3.5 Stars. We stayed in site 37 (full hook-up, pull thru) for 3 nights in January. The site was gravel, level, near bath house (which was older but warm and clean), nice size gravel patio, fire pit, and grill. The camp hosts and personnel at the office were helpful and friendly. You can get firewood, snacks, and ice cream at the office store. The park is secured at 10pm. The park is quiet and relaxing and we could see the lake from our campsite. In addition to the lake, there is an exercise area, kayak rental, two dog parks, playground, volleyball and horse shoe pit. Over-the-air TV produced about 12 channels but the wifi and cell service was excellent. Waycross is a 15 min drive and there are chain restaurants, hardware store, wal mart, grocery stores, etc.

We prefer cabins rather than hotels as they are cheaper and quieter. This cabin was very nice, clean, quiet and seemed almost brand new. Even with other cabins full the park is quiet and a nice place to unwind and relax. Definitely one of our favorites!

The views are great. The campsites are nice sized and fairly flat. The bathrooms are somewhat dated but clean.

The issues that kept this from being 5 star…

1) we intentionally reserved a site near the playground on the map because of the age of my granddaughters. The playground had been removed and not replaced.

2) the camp hosts wouldn’t allow the tent to be placed on grass and there was no tent pads…. It had to be placed on gravel with big rocks and roots.

3). the camp hosts were very strict that even one tire couldn’t be on the grass at all.

If you want to slow down and take a deep breath then you’ve found your spot here at Laura Walker. The camp sites are large, level, and well maintained. The bathrooms are spotless and clean. The trail system is flat and easy for first time hikers. With it only being an hour and a half from Jacksonville, FL it’s the perfect getaway for us.

If you want to slow down and take a deep breath then you’ve found your spot here. It is located right next to the swamp. This is a beautiful State Park in southeast Georgia. We will come back to the park when we come back.

Beautiful park with nice ample RV spots. There’s a nice large lake you can boat in. There’s small swimming areas and they have life vets you can borrow for the children. The cabins are closed right now, so only RVs and tent camping for now. It’s nice and very quiet. There are some trails for hiking and biking.

This was a wonderful place to RV camp. We liked the smallness of it. Got the last site so could camp in the handicap site. I can’t commend the volunteers enough. They were right on top of things from raking the site to seeing the grills were clean. Great job by all. Will be back.

One the cleanest, well maintained state parks I have ever camped at. Very nice lake. Great WIFI and good cell coverage. Georgia gives a senior discount to out of state seniors which I really appreciated. Very friendly host. If in the area I will defiantly return. $40 night.

This park has a nice small campground. All spots are electric and water only with a dump station. The best spots are 12,8 and 6. They are right by the water with great views. The boat rental was closed for the season.
