We stayed close by and did a little hiking in the park. They have cabins with lake or Mountain View’s that we will try next visit. Beautiful vistas without driving further north. We ran into quite a few other Floridians looking for fall color.

This was one of the most interesting places in a park that I have ever visited. You learn what a terrific man/President that Franklin D. Roosevelt was. During his time as President of the United States he implemented so many programs and the people loved...More

It was a nice camping spot and the bathrooms were VERY clean. It was quiet and the spots were spread out enough to have privacy. There are plenty of trails and stuff to do. My 6 year old had fun. Also Wild Animal Safari was...More

I recently went to this park for a birding morning. Tons of bluebirds! I was impressed by th size of the park. They really have something for everyone here. Hiking, biking, boating and even a stable to go horseback riding. They have cabins to rent...More

Site number 301 exceeded our expectations! It was up against a hill with a little stream running through it. My kids had so much fun playing just around our site. The hike to the pool was fun but we were disappointed to see that it...More

We really enjoyed our stay. The only things we found to take one star away is that there is no playground for the kids. The lake is fun but we didn't catch any fish. There are boat rentals. The sites are nicely graded and clean....More

A drive across Hwy 190 into FDR State Park will take your breathe away, especially in the fall with the change of colors. Be sure to stop at the pull-overs for a spectacular view of the country side below. They offer camping, swimming, and picnic...More

The park is on the small size compared to other State Parks but the hikes are beautiful and the town is a small quaint typical small southern mountain town. Good food and some interesting shopping spots like Cat's Meow.

This is not Shenandoah National Park in Virginia but you could almost imagine that you're there. The road in FDR State Park runs on the top of the ridge just like Skyline Drive in Shenandoah, but at a much lower altitude. It's lovely and there...More

To the best of my knowledge there are no hotels in the park - but there are cabins. Pine Mountain town is nearby and there are hotels there. LaGrange is a little further, but lodging there as well. Also Callaway gardens... More
