Beautiful State Park to visit and return to nature's beauty!

Wonderful place to visit to enjoy the scenic views and see history made by FDR. Sights and views are amazing and the time spent touring the area very calming.

After a long week, we were looking forward to a retreat from the real world. We drove through the hills to get the campsite. The drive is breathtaking. The campsites are first come first serve. It is nice to be able to choose your own site where you will be spending the next few days. It is also good to... More

There is a nice view where FDR used to go for picnics and a statue that you can get your picture taken by. Nice view of the Georgia hills, but not really anything spectacular.

We had a great visit. Weather was cooperative. They have a small pond for fishing though I would definitely not suggest swimming (though i believe that may be posted somewhere but people weren't paying attention when we were there and there were snakes). We fished and basically just relaxed. There is a small playground and areas to pinic as well.... More

Beautiful vistas, lots of information and a really cool custom-made-for-FDR grill. Stop at Dowdell's Knob and take in the view!

We went hiking as a family on Thanksgiving day. The weather was great and the scenery was beautiful. I was surprised to find a place so beautiful in GA. A must see!

We drove up to Dowdells Knob where FDR would picnic. It was beautiful. the hike was pretty easy... Rocky trail in some parts... we hiked down about a mile and hiked back..Down hill one way and uphill back... There is a great statue of FDR at the top. Worth taking a look.

Rich history and great time with family. It is amazing to hike and camp in FDR. Great volunteers that love the property have maintained it over the years. You can almost hear the chatter of the Roosevelt family on Dowdell's Knob.

Reserved a specific type of cabin online but that is not what we got on arrival. Reserved a two bed cabin but the one we got was one bed with a pull out sofa. Should have made it right with the customer at the park reservation desk but they did not.

We rented a cabin for two nights after Thanksgiving. It was the last cabin available. When we got there we learned why the demand. Our cabin had been completely renovated. And, the cabin was located on the rim of Pine Mountain, so our rocking chairs overlooked a twenty mile view. Full kitchen, two fireplaces, not bad. The park is a... More
