These caves were not on our radar when we planned our trip to Croatia but when we visited Klis Fortress we saw signs so made a note and headed back there. We were absolutely astounded at how beautiful these caves are, the colours of stalagmites and stalactites were so varied and like nothing we had seen before. The size of the cave is also like nothing else, normally you are walking through narrow tunnels whereas this is like a huge room filled with incredibly beauty. It doesn't take long to see the whole thing but you will want to linger and take in the beauty of them. The men who run it are very relaxed and give you a nice over view of the history and facts about the caves and then you are free to wander, it is the most relaxing cave visit we've had and would recommend this as a must see if you are in this area of Croatia. Our family are me, hubby, 14 year old and 3 year old and we all loved it. There is also a lovely rockery/garden that you could sit and picnic in afterwards.

We were going to go straight to split but decided to detour here on our way and it was a great decision.
We met the owner and he was very informative, he gave us the history of the cave and explained what we were going to see.
This is the biggest one of its kind I have ever visited and it was just amazing!
I highly recommend going !

Who would not want to go under a mountain, & experience the hidden world in this 65 million year old cave? Really fascinating & informative visit, guided by the family guardians of this amazing national treasure. Definitely go & support one of our world's incredible natural phenomena.
The cave is a permanent 15 degrees, so nice & cool. Easy to navigate, & mainly dry, although lots of steps. I was in close fitting fit flops.
The owner gives a personal introduction for about 10 mins, & then you can explore on your own. Quite amazing to be there. Very un-touristy, not crowded.
You can drive to almost the cave entrance - stop where the road ends, & a pebble path starts.
There is an absolutely BEAUTIFUL seating area around the cave. Lovely rockery planting, shaded walls, seats & tables. Quiet, natural, peaceful & safe.
I would bring a picnic, & eat there. There are toilets, & a drinks machine. But it is worth lingering longer in this magical, & beautifully maintained, spot.

Well worth the 30 minute drive from Split to see some of the most spectacular stalagmites, stalactites and other cave-type features. It was also a good way to escape from the outside heat for a while. The owner was really nice and explained all about the history of the caves and what to look out for down there.

Breathtaking caves, cannot recommend enough. Only a few people there, and a nice cool temperature. Easy to get to by car through Dugopolje, follow the signs. True hidden gem, as many others have already said. 50 kuna per person.

This cave is absolutely amazing,we went to visit the Cave Vranjaca with my family and had a great time. The cave is private and the owner is very nice guy.His knowledge of the cave and its development was extensive .We recommend you to go there when is hot day because pleasant temperature of 15 ° C in the summer will cool you down for sure.

I've been more times to Vranjaca Cave, especially on a HOT summer day it's climate is delicious !
As the year round temperature is around 15 degrees C. (30 F.) a visit is a perfect escape from the summer heat.
Until of course when you get out of it, as than the heat hits you double hard :-)

Marko, the owner, is a most admirable person, who is willing to help any time, being small or large groups.
Once I took a couple of visiting friends there, and one of them was slightly frightened, being a bit handicapped.
No problem Marko said, I will accompany the lady myself, so he did, and gave her a once in a lifetime experience.
Bravo Marko, your personal touch is unique !!!

And so is the cave, not even that far from Split and surroundings, and as a half day trip well worth the effort of getting there (sometimes a bit of searching, but hey, you'll get there anyway).
The amount of natural sculptures is as in any cave truly amazing, my personal opinion as well as of everybody I take there.
Still much to my surprise a lot of people do not know about this gem, even the locals from Split.

Should you want to organise a special event, being a subtle concert or a special occasion like a marriage buffet *), ask Marko, as he's always willing to be of help, as long as it does not harm the cave's natural condition.

*)
I know he does, as he did so for a good friend's group of family and closest friends when he got married.
So now you know where to ask for her hand (at Kastil Slanica in the evening), where to organise a unique wedding buffet, hére, and in case of doubt, choose Hotel Villa Dvor for that first romantic night together).

Vranjaca cave is one of the nature marbles and it would be pity not to visit if you are in Dalmatia. We visited this place with our kids and they were delighted, for a change. It is so peaceful and so exciting, like entering a place from fairy tales. Strongly recommend to visit.

We visited the cave when the temperature was 30 degrees outside, inside the cave is a paradise of 15-16 degrees . If you are passing through you must visit to see this wonder of nature made by ancient river. It takes about 1h for tour , entrance is about 5.5€

Cave is on the Punda family property. It was discovered by the owners grandfather in 1906. The owner took a lot of time to tell us the history of the cave and area and he also offers walking/lunch treks for groups as well. Advice: owner prefers to take groups down but allowed us to go down independently. Not great lighting so take a torch, wear good shoes as steps and a rocky damp surface, take a jumper as it's 15 degrees down there; oh and don't suffer from claustrophobia! Children may get quickly bored or frightened (as our 6 year old guest daughter did.) definitely worth the trip and reasonably priced. Drinks/icecream available on site.
