We went to the beach in late September and it was beautiful! It's very wide and houses are way back from the ocean. There were very few people there and the weather was gorgeous. We stayed in Savannah so we really don't know that much about the island but the beach and the ocean were fantastic.

Stayed in a condo in the mid beach area in September, 2016 after the busy summer season. Nice quiet area with not a lot of "hustle and bustle", very small town feel. Was able to walk the beach with very few other people around. However, that was during the week, Tues through Thursday. The weekend was much busier but not... More

Great beach. The water is not too cold, wonderful pier and very clean. Lifeguards are visible, so feels very safe. Many restaurants close by.

My wife and I went to Tybee Island Beach as part of a camping trip to Savannah. We stopped by the lighthouse which was already closed, but all we really wanted to do was see the ocean and get our feet wet. After all, it would be a shame to travel all that way and not actually see the coast.... More

This beach is very relaxed. Not over commercialized. We really enjoyed our stay here. The sand dunes were amazing.

Beach did not have very many people. There are paces to rent umbrellas. Waves are not rough. Lots of seashells. Pier is free to enter and you can watch locals fishing. There is also drinks and bathrooms on the pier. Shopping is one street away with several shops for those souveniers. Many areas to wash feet when exiting the beach.... More

Spending a couple of days here to complete our vacation. Few tourists, water at perfect temp, great long walks, chance to watch giant cargo ships come to port. All in all , just about perfect.

I will admit...I'm coming at this from a California girl perspective. The beach is beautiful. I love the Indian Brush and the wooden walkways down to the beach...straight out of a painting. However, I was hot and sticky after a long day in the car and I was so looking forward to a refreshing swim. I was disappointed. The water... More
