My friends and I had a group of 14 go on the dolphin tour and they were so accommodating and nice to all of us. The sunset tour was really fun and entertaining, and well worth the money because it lasts about an hour and a half. Connor and Gator were so funny and full of life and even said that they had fun with us on the tour,
please go visit them and leave a tip! They are the best.

This is our second visit to Tybee Island so we wanted to try a different tour for Dolphin and boating! We chose Captain Derek’s tour based off the impressive reviews and website information. We were warmly taken care of when calling to see if tours were still available and after an easy online reservation we were on our way! Short nice drive from Savannah and the directions were easy to follow. We arrived and received our boarding pass and had shaded area for short wait to board the touring vessel! Captain Gator and his First Mate on this day greeted us on the motor vessel Monster, very clean and spacious boat that holds 62 people. Today we had about 25 people and they took out 2 boats to accommodate social distancing guidelines which is a big expense to this operator due to fuel amounts. This is well appreciated! Our tour was excellent we saw many dolphins, got some cool music to go with the Jump performance that both Captains orchestrated along with their friends the Dolphins! Saw the Tybee Island lighthouse and received some local storytelling to boot! Weather was great and my family enjoyed the time together! Well worth the price and I highly suggest to tip because the tourist industry has been hard hit and they need to survive so we can enjoy these types of activities! Thank you for the tour it was fun and will do again!

This dolphin tour exceeded our expectation! Four of us, two adults two children took the sunset tour, not only saw many dolphins but also enjoyed the glaring sunset view. All camera storage were full because of the stunning views. Captain Derek's tourguide (maybe Kevin...? sorry if I remembered wrong) and captain, staff are very good, they generated extra waves to attract Dolphin following us from the distance. And they allowed enough time for all of us seeing the dolphin, the beautiful view, the lighthouse, did not rush us at all. At first, we thought we will just see a few dolphins jumping far away, so we asked the guide which side can see the dolphin, he answered: everywhere, both sides. I don't really believe...all he said is true, we saw dolphins everywhere at both sides, some of them even so close to our boat. Two thumbs up for Captain Dereck's dolphin tour!!! Highly, highly recommended!

We visiting Captain Derek's Dolphin Adventure in 2016 and couldn't wait to go again this year. We brought with us a group of 20 and promised them it would be an amazing time. Captain Josh and his first mate Johnny were fantastic! We enjoyed a lot of activities both on Tybee and in Savannah that week and the sunset dolphin cruise was the last on our agenda. All of our friends and family agreed it was the cherry on top of a beautiful vacation. We brought our coolers and were thoroughly entertained by Johnny and his stories. The Captain did a great job making sure we had a picture perfect view of the sunset and pulled safely alongside a cargo ship that was being escorted by a pod of jumping dolphins. I can't say enough good things about this organization. It was obvious they took extra care to follow Covid safety protocols. The memories of this evening will last forever!

We came here from Florida, a party of seven with two toddlers and wanted to see some dolphins....We thought we would be lucky to see 2 or 3 while out....I cannot begin to tell you how many dolphins we saw this was by far the best part of our vacation, and my kids were over the moon and still are! We got there and checked in they have covered seating while you wait once the boat is ready everybody gets on board, we were lucky enough to sit in the front which was awesome for the kids! The man driving the boat as well as our first mate I believe is what they called him (the guy who talks over the speaker during the tour) explain everything before the boat left the dock as to safety procedures and what to look out for while we were out. They were so personable and interactive the whole tour, they played music, they were asking trivia questions and helped everyone stay excited and engaged the whole time. They educated us with local history and fun facts such as a popular comedic actors house we could see from the boat! Once the dolphins came out to play it was all we could do to not see dolphins! They were everywhere and the boat was great at taking us to the best areas so the dolphins were in great view the entire time! I would 150% do this tour every single time I am in the area!!

First of all, let me say that my family has been on other dolphin tours. One in Tybee several years ago, and one on Hilton Head last October. These other tours pale in comparison to Captain Derek's Dolphin Adventure! We booked the sunset tour and our boat was less than half full due to Covid restrictions. Captain Jerry and first mate, Cameron (along with his dog, second mate Marley) took us on an awesome ride that we will always remember. We saw more dolphins than we could count and the sun peeked out as it was going down so I got some wonderful pictures to remember the trip, We could move around the boat from side to side so we had full access to see the dolphins no matter which side of the boat they swam. We were on the water for at least an hour and a half, so if you have small children I would be aware of that. You do have to walk down a fairly steep gangplank to get to the dock, but there were older people (one with a cane) and he managed to make it. I'm not sure about any other restrictions as far as disabilities, etc. This trip is definitely worth the money and you won't be disappointed. They actually guarantee you will see dolphins or they will take you on another trip for free!

I have been on several dolphin tours and while they are always fun, this tour was absolutely magical! We saw countless dolphins and they were almost close enough to touch. My niece and nephew were with me and it was their first time ever on a boat or seeing dolphins. This will be something we will all remember forever! Our guides were Cameron and John and they were both fantastic! They told funny, corny jokes and even gave tips on taking the best sunset pictures. I got some that were amazing! I highly recommend going if you’re in the area, and the prices are great for such a memorable experience. Highlight of our trip!

We booked this tour and definitely we’re not disappointed. They did good with COVID-19 restrictions by running 3 boats at about 2/3 capacity. It was an absolutely beautiful night to be out and we saw several pods of dolphin and at one point they started surfing in the wake of the boat! Captain Gator was not only a great boat captain but also a wonderful narrator taking us around to see various sights of Tybee Island and it’s history. Everything ran on time and we returned shortly after sunset. He gave us plenty of opportunities to not only see the dolphins, which we did on several occasions, but also many different views of the lighthouse and take pictures. We definitely recommend the tour if your in the Savanna area you won’t be disappointed.

This was the highlight of my trip. We booked the dolphin/sunset tour for 8 people. Everyone enjoyed the trip. I was skeptical on seeing dolphins in late December, but we saw probably 10-14 of them. The captain did an excellent job of maneuvering the boat so all could see the sunset. I've taken hundreds of pictures of sunsets, and the one we had on the the water with this company was probably #1 of all time. As mentioned, the captain kept moving the boat slowly so both sides could see. I moved around a lot, which you could easily do. the first mate was easy to hear and between him and the captain, they pointed out where to look and gave interesting details of what was around us. best 90 minutes in Tybee.

I totally would recommend the sunset cruise bc it’s not too hot tons of dolphins and pictures of sunset are amazing. The crew is soooo entertaining and engaging with all on the boat young and old. They are also very knowledgeable about history of Tybee Island and all the celebrity houses was a great add on also. Thanks so much for a wonderful night.
