The volunteers here know their history! They were able to share information from the Civil War and it was quite interesting to hear. We had just been near the old lighthouse so we could picture the stories quite well. :)

It was part of your ticket price to the Tybee Lighthouse which made it seem like a free add-on. For free, it was worth doing. It might have been better with a tour which wasn't available at the time we went through.

This is one of my children's favorite places to visit. They are really into histories of wars. I highly suggest visiting this museum.

Admission is included with your ticket to Tybee Island Lighthouse. Park at the lighthouse and walk across the street. There is a tour guide upstairs, and a self-guided tour downstairs. Also upstairs is a submarine periscope that works if the light outside is just right.
