The Thomasville History Center is an interesting museum for all ages in South Georgia. The small collection of clothing is especially nice to see. Objects from houses in the area give a taste of life from the past. Occasional talks are informative and offer some depth to the programming.

Well worth the five dollars to visit. They have a guided tour for 8.00. We were not offered that.. I think because it was around lunch time when we went. Some great buildings to enjoy. Theres even a bowling alley where you can play.. but you have to set the pins back up. The film they showed before we started our self guided tour kept skipping and the sound was bad. Could have been the internet connection. We enjoyed it.

This is a really interesting museum of the history of Thomasville over the last 200 years. There are some great artifacts and interesting stories. But be prepared to explore on your own. Your $5 entry fee will get you in the door. You can watch a 5-10 minute video and after that you are on your own. The historians there are decidedly not there to give tours or answer questions about the museum.

We went one rainy day. We are new to the area and our son (he has been here several years) said we should go. My wife son and daughter-in-law and I went down to check it out. First we were told they only took cash. Off we went to the ATM. The rest of the visit was outstanding. The history of Thomasville is a journey back and you can see how some good forward thinking kept this small town going while other went to the waste side. I’ll be going back to take the tour again. I know I missed so much, therefore another visit is needed.

There are several interesting exhibits in the main building. A single lane bowling alley on the grounds, and many other interesting things to explore.
