If you're in Thomasville at dinner time this is a good choice for a smart, chic atmosphere and really good food. I had steak/frites which I rarely eat. The steak was quite good and the frites were as good as they get. Just delicious. I'm tempted to return and just eat French fries. Prices are very reasonable and service was excellent. Sweet Grass is best known for excellent cheeses - and they're good. But the steak/frites is worth a trip.

My wife and I spent a few days in town for our first get away since last year. We absolutely loved Sweet Grass Cheese and ate here three times. The cheese plates were amazing, the best cheese we've had stateside. The kitchen staff cooked amazing foods, solid craft beers and cider from the bar and the servers were warm and friendly. We were never disappointed and can't wait to come back.

My wife and I traveled to Thomasville from Savannah for cheese and we were not disappointed. A new shop downtown on Main Street which was easy to find.

Great cheese. The employees were knowledgeable about the cheese and the area giving us ideas on places for lunch.

We were disappointed that most restaurants stop serving lunch at 2PM. We got there late but had a good meal across the street at Savannah Moon Bakery.

I gave my sister the day long cheese making class at Sweet Grass Dairy for her birthday. What a disappointment. The "instructor" was obviously worn out/bored, no enthusiasm (but lots of ego), poor hospitality (no coffee or snack for early arrival and no mid-day refreshment for all day "seminar")...the worst was the cheese tasting at the end...cheese was put out with no labels or tasting notes or comments. No "guided tasting" at all...we "tasted" while instructor played with iphone! For the amount of money, a real rip off! When I mentioned our dissatisfaction in e-mail, no one cared enough to follow up to asking for specifics.

We had heard about Sweet Grass Dairy Marketplace from friends as well as in the paper. We stopped by for a mid-week lunch while exploring Thomasville. Definitely a good choice.

We enjoyed a four cheese cheese board (sorry, can't remember its name). Paired it with some bubbles and a shared entrée salad. Fantastic light lunch for two.

Awesome cheese and awesome beer (and wine).

We fell through the doors here one afternoon as it was open during Thomasville's decent and respectable opening hours (so similar to England in the 1980s).

Brilliant choice.

Awesome service (the bar staff serve tables as well, so be patient). Cheese boards are tremendous with the wine and beer.

The beer. Wow. I hate strong beer. I'm a volume man. One gallon is not uncommon for me. So I avoid anything over 5% abv. But the barman - a bearded local guy with a fantastic sense of humour- knew his ales and I ended up trying the 8.2% ale which scarily tasted like only a 5%!!

Also try their pimento dip. By far the best in Thomasville.

Maybe Georgia.

Maybe the WORLD!!

I came to Thomasville just to taste the local cheese and I was prepared to purchase cheese to take home but I was so disappointed with the service and attitudes of the staff that I just ate my cheese flight and left. I was ignored by at least 4 different employees and overheard one self involved young man explain that nothing was made at the restaurant the only thing they do is grate cheese.

The cheese plate itself was good not great and there was enough of it to make a meal.

We had a pre-dinner appetizer of a cheese platter and wine and beer. It was absolutely perfect and I could go there every day. I wanted to go back for a light dinner the next day (Saturday) but the place was mobbed. For good reason.

This is a popular local restaurant. The proprietors own and operate a farm at which they make cheese and grow produce for local consumption. You will find their cheeses on many menus in larger metropolitan areas. The menu is a mix of typical items with a unique twist. It is fun to sit at the bar if you are a small party and watch the action. Also unique and original cocktails. You can buy their cheeses and a collection of other small batch dairy cheeses in the restaurant entrance. Non apetit!

Was in town for work, ate at the bar early (like 5:30 or 6pm). loved the look of the place, loved the food. would have given 5 stars but the bartender wasn't spectacular to the extent that she was inattentive. However, she was very helpful when i got her attention (to refill water, order food, etc).
