The setting for the vineyard was beautiful and the wines we tasted were delightful.
That said the environment did not seem appropriate. None of the servers were wearing masks. With each very small taste we had to return inside where it was crowed to have our next taste poured. Usually we would enjoy sitting outside with a glass of our pick of the tasting but we not feel comfortable.
Maybe if things return to “normal” we would return but not under the present circumstances.

While on vacation we stopped to enjoy some wine. Nice selection. We had been searching for peach wine that all the other wineries didn't have. The peach they had was from the muscadines grape and was good. They have both sweet and dry wines and prices are in $20 dollars a bottle. Plenty of places to sit outside. Loved the blackberry slushy and mango margherita slushy. Only problem I see if they are busy, they want you to taste the sample outside and come back in for next sample. Five samples for $10. Parking is very limited if they get busy.

The grounds are beautiful and Hanna was wonderful in explaining the different wines we were tasting. I was surprised that they import their grapes from California. And I must say the food situation was really lacking. Choosing prepackaged meats and cheeses and fixing your own plate is not appealing. I would appreciate a small menu of food pairings that compliment the wine.
We went on a Monday afternoon and I thought it was busy for a weekday. Imagine weekends get very crowded.

The wine was fine, a passable quality for what’s to be expected from a 6-year old winery in Northern Georgia.

But what was simply inexcusable was the attitude of the majority of the employees and customers. My boyfriend and I stopped in during a trip around Northern Georgia and were treated with cold, rude behavior the entire time beyond a bearded gentleman who was very helpful initially — including stares from the employees, curt conversation when checking out, and a group of customers who openly talked about us when we sat down.

Clearly we did not match the expectations for clientele of this winery in appearance or monetary spending; when it became clear we were not going to splurge hundreds of dollars at this over-priced winery experience (which, truthfully, the wine we tasted was NOT worth it), we were treated like commoner garbage.

If you are looking for a friendly, southern winery experience in the northern Georgia mountains without the expectations of spending $200+, keep driving. This is not worth it.

We stopped by after spending day in Ellijay. Found this treat of a winery! There was band playing and they had food truck for anyone that was hungry. The staff was friendly and helpful as they were busy. Everyone wanted to enjoy summer day! I enjoyed the Pinot Grigio wine. It was light and crisp. Also tried a red wine Georgia’s Curvee that was nice. Took a bottle of white to go!

We will return again!

We fell upon this vineyard when we were doing our annual wine tastings in the blue ridge area. It is very nicely set up with the Italian style buildings. We went during the week in the afternoon and it wasn't too busy. The grounds are nicely kept up.

Found this winery on google search. Most wineries in North Georgia are not all that great including their wines. My wife and I found this winery tucked away in the woods.
The place is very nice with hints of a Tuscan chateau. The tasting room and the indoor and outdoor seating is fantastic! The tasting hosts were very nice and informative. It's a family run business taking pride in what they produce. We found two wines, a white and a red that we liked very much. They rivaled anything we would by from Oregon or North Calif.
I will be back in the Fall when the leaves are turning yellow.

This is such a wonderful place to spend a Georgia afternoon!!!! These are great wines by any standards, not just local. The people are so friendly and genuinely happy to serve you. The grounds are beautiful... and set up for safety and social distancing!

Definitely recommend a visit to Chateau Miechtry. Staff extremely knowledgeable and helpful with recommendations. Optimal outdoor seating with a variety of wine tastings available. Most of the local wines are on the dry side. The good wine, beautiful views, and great service made for a delightful experience. Pet friendly. You can even bring along some snacks, crackers & cheese or sandwiches to enjoy with your wine. Would definitely return.

We were staying in Ellijay, GA, and the owner of our B&B recommended this winery as his favorite. It did not disappoint! The wine was fabulous (and we love wine). The staff was so kind to recommend & let us try wines before selecting a glass. It was a rainy day, but the views were still beautiful and the inside is sooo cozy with a great aesthetic. I highly recommend!!
