Sapelo Island tours are a chance to learn about a way of life that most of us don't know about. The local people, often descendants of slaves who worked the plantations on the island, send their children to the mainland for school. The State of...More

Took the early ferry to the island, beautiful ride. Bus tour and brunch at Reynolds Plantation. Beautiful old home, very good tour guide with lots of interesting facts about family. The house was decorated for Christmas

We took our Washington D.C. friends to Sapelo Island and were not disappointed. It had been 60 years since I last set foot on the island. The ferry system is efficiently run with safety first. The overall Sapelo tour was educational and beautiful. We particularly...More

We did this as part of a local tour. The natural beauty is unique however it is difficult to get there without a guided tour. If staying in the local historic mansion hotel there is an isolated beach and hiking trails.
