Start your morning early by riding the ferry at 8:30A.M. Then be whisked away in an air-conditioned, roomy van to view the sights. Our tour guide was knowledgeable about the facts and history of the buildings, plants, marine life, and people, that have made their mark on this island. She kept an interesting, upbeat dialogue about daily life for locals... More

See Sapelo! The private tour with Sapelo Tours (JR Grover) is wonderful. Our tour guide was informative, funny and an expert driver. Who would have thought that a "yellow school bus" would be such a great conveyance...? Enjoy your day and see the Research Center, lighthouse, beach and Reynolds Plantation.

Sapelo island is an incredible place, and there are very few coastal islands like it. It is difficult to visit requiring a ferry trip and arranged transportation from the dock (unless you are or know a property owner). However, once you have that set up, the island is yours to enjoy. Desolate beaches, thick forests, and incredible views surround you.... More

While you can tour here year round, touring times are limited and you must make plans in advance. It is like all of the islands along the Georgia Coast very unique and rich in history and culture. You must take a ferry to reach the island. This is a great find.

I visited Sapelo several years ago and thought it was so interesting that I wanted to go back. This April my husband and I will take Stacey's tour. She is so knowledgable , enthusiastic , and accommodating that I know we will have a wonderful experience.

Sapelo Island is BEAUTIFUL. If you have a chance to visit the island... take one of the tours offered by local residents. I went to the 2015 Culture Day (in October every year). Loved the island. Ate the most amazing food. Met wonderful people. Learned a lot about the history of the island and the current state. Definitely worth checking... More

Once you are able to find parking at the dock, it's just a short boat ride over to Sapelo. The tour takes you all around- by the post office, cemetery, village, lighthouse, and of course the beach. The detail on the tour was great. You can really get a feel for what life on the island is like. The whole... More

This is the tour sold by JR - a resident of Sapelo Island. We were really excited to be taking a tour of this unique island with a local guide and were very disappointed. We arrived at the dock and found the tour only because a few others were gathered around our guide and van. No one was actively looking... More

First advice - Don't forget your insect repellent and you will have a wonderful time at a very low price for a day tour. You will enjoy Georgia and American history, tropical forest, beach, tabby ruins, research education and the Reynolds Mansion. The Mansion may be rented through the Georgia State Parks Dept for 16 - 29 people and the... More
