About Southeastern Angling
Welcome to Southeastern Angling, Coastal Georgia’s premier light tackle and fly fishing charter service. Based out of Saint Simons Island and Jekyll Island, Southeastern Angling was formed when full time guides Captain Scott Owens and Captain Rob Aldridge got together over 10 years ago and saw the need to provide a top notch professional fishing guide service here in the Golden Isles and Florida. The Golden Isles consists of Coastal Georgia barrier islands, including St. Simons Island, Jekyll Island, Sea Island, and Little St. Simons. Southeastern Angling specializes in inshore and near-shore light tackle and fly fishing charters not only in Georgia but also in North Florida and the Florida Keys. Providing high quality skiffs and bay boats from 16 to 24 feet, they have the perfect tools to chase a wide array of fish in many areas and a lifetime of experience and knowlage to find the bite. Whether you are a seasoned fly angler, or a family seeking an enjoyable day on the water, Southeastern Angling offers trips catered to each individual need! Make sure to check out the Georgia and Florida Keys fishing report pages where you can brows through over 15 years of fishing reports and great videos! Coastal Georgia has more saltwater marsh than anywhere else in the country. This expansive marsh makes up for nearly 1/3 of all of the saltwater marsh in the United States, and with a large tidal range that floods inland upwards of 20 miles from the coast, experience and knowledge of the ecosystem is key to consistently catching fish and your safety. Southeastern Angling guides all have this experience and we offer our clients inshore, near shore, and offshore light tackle and fly fishing charters in the waters around our area. We fish the waters around Sea Island, Saint Simons Island, Jekyll Island, Little St. Simons Island, Brunswick, and several other locations around Cumberland, St. Mary’s, Amelia Island, and Sapelo that provide access to less pressured waters. Our primary departure points are easy to reach on Jekyll Island, and out of St. Simons only 3 miles from Sea Island’s Cloister Hotel and less than 5 miles from the beach areas on the island.

We took a four hour near shore fishing trip with 4 teenage boys and myself for a birthday trip. This fishing was great and the boat was pristine and well organized. Our guide was Captain Griffin and he put us right where we needed to be to get a lot of fish and a variety. We caught sea trout most often. We also caught redfish. My son caught a nice 6.5 Lb redfish and I caught a nice bonnet head shark. We also caught a bluefish, a Jack, a grouper. Captain Griffin worked quickly to help with tangles from inexperienced fishermen casting crazy. He also baited and cast lines for the least experienced in our crew. He did a great job of supporting us all and maximizing our opportunities to catch fish. It was a great trip and we’ll be back soon

Captain Jeremy took our family (5 adults!) out in the St Simons bay for a 2 hr shark fishing trip. Had a great time. We caught several black tip sharks, a few stingrays, a few whiting, and two bonnet head sharks that were fairly large (15-20lbs). Jeremy patiently answered all of our many (and I mean many) questions about the bay, the fish we caught, and of course a bunch of shark related questions since it was shark week! Just a great outing that none of us will ever forget. We regret not booking a longer charter. Thank you Captain Jeremy!

I booked multiple days with Scott and his crew after looking around and doing some research online - let me tell you after 30+ years of fishing and experience fishing all over, these guys are the real deal. Finding someone who gets the true details of being a professional guide is difficult - these guys live up to it! The boats and equipment are top notch, rigs are clean, Scott and company are professional, friendly and great with kids as well as experienced anglers like myself. There's nobody else I would go with in the Golden Isles - so book in advance! Fishing guides shouldnt be like Disney Land - you need to call ahead and set the expectations beforehand and Scott and crew get it. We fished for a couple of hours with an 11 7 and 4 year old and all of them were constantly hooked up and having fun - the hook didnt stay unbaited or out of action for long! Thanks to Scott and crew we will be back again and again...

Had a great time! Wil was our guide and we had a great experience. Caught 4 sharks!! My teenage son asked all kinds of questions and Will was very kind and knowledgeable about the area! If we go back we will be using him again to go out in ocean. Side note, I lost a piece of jewelry and we thought it may have been on boat , Wil went back hours after our trip and looked over the boat. He found it! Overall great time!

Great trip on 3/14 with Captain Scott. Myself and 12 year old son (2nd only bay trip) had a great time with Scott and released over 50 fish, patient but educational to my 12 year old. Great trip!
