This is a must see on SSI. It drips with history and tradition to match the Spanish moss dripping from the giant oaks. The
graveyard alone is a tour through the island past. Match your trip with reading about the families who grew Cotten, rice...More
We enjoyed exploring the interior of the church, and the docent told us much about the history of the church and its staff. Heard about the variety of stained glass windows, which are not to be missed. Learned about several presidents that have attended worship...More

This church and the grounds are beautiful pretty much year round. Inside you'll see some of the most interesting stained glass brought here many many years ago. The cemetery is interesting too. Some of the headstones date back to the early. 1800's! Very peaceful area.
I grew up in the Methodist church. It was amazing to see a place where the Wesley brothers preached prior to the founding of the Methodist church. The entire grounds look like a movie set, just picture perfect inside and out. The stained glass windows...More

I do not think they have services on site on Sundays. I do know that although they have posted that you can tour the inside of the church daily, I went on 2 different week days in December, and no one showed up either day to open the doors. There were several families waiting both days, however there was nothing posted to indicate why it was not open on the days that showed it should be open. I was disappointed because my last trip to Christ Church last year, I was unable to go inside either because the doors never opened. The outside grounds are beautiful and are worth seeing over and over though.
