Happen to be visiting Island on We3dnesday. Church holds a noontime service on Wednesdays. Participated in the service. Pastor spent time with us after the service.

The setting of the church is beautiful. It’s among old trees and alongside an old cemetery. The church has been kept in wonderful condition. The outside and inside were decorated for Christmas.

This is a must see on SSI. It drips with history and tradition to match the Spanish moss dripping from the giant oaks. The graveyard alone is a tour through the island past. Match your trip with reading about the families who grew Cotten, rice...More

We enjoyed exploring the interior of the church, and the docent told us much about the history of the church and its staff. Heard about the variety of stained glass windows, which are not to be missed. Learned about several presidents that have attended worship...More

Recently visited with English visitors and they absolutely loved it. Impressive from the outside, do try to visit on a weekday after 2.00pm when it’s normally open and attended by a volunteer who will explain its history and point out things of particular interest, such...More

This church and the grounds are beautiful pretty much year round. Inside you'll see some of the most interesting stained glass brought here many many years ago. The cemetery is interesting too. Some of the headstones date back to the early. 1800's! Very peaceful area.

I grew up in the Methodist church. It was amazing to see a place where the Wesley brothers preached prior to the founding of the Methodist church. The entire grounds look like a movie set, just picture perfect inside and out. The stained glass windows...More

I don't know the answer but being that it is sacred ground and on the National Historic Registries, I'm guessing not.
