Not crowded on March 1. Made for a lovely long walk. Could walk on nice packed sand for several hours. Condos set back from the beach with hardly anyone on the porches.

The river sediment makes the water cloudy and gray. You will find better beaches elsewhere. Don’t go for pristine and clean beach environments.

At low tide, this is a really good beach for riding bicycles and dog walking. The sand is firmly packed and easy to ride on. The beaches on Jekyll Island looked like they might be nicer for sunbathing and enjoying the water.

Visited the beach on a warm, breezy morning. We had our dog with us on a long lead; she really enjoyed romping in the waves. The beach is very long and wide; nice and sandy.

Someday, I may get to Hawaii or the Caribbean and it may blow this beach out of the water...but for East Coast beaches this place is pretty sweet. People are great. This is not one of those super commercial beaches with trash cans every 5...More

While on St. Simons , you must go to the beach. East Beach has plenty of parking for beach access and has showers and bathrooms. Life guards on duty.
