I always like learning/understanding how processes work, be it a distillery or a cotton gin, and Rick & T.J. were very friendly and answered all our questions, from the growing & pressing the cane to the aging of the rum in barrels.
We arrived mid-day on a Monday, so it was not crowded and I suspect we got (and appreciated) a more personal touch.
During the tasting there was no pressure to buy anything, we were asked for feedback on the various samples, and any/all questions were answered.
We found out this was a Harvest Host site (for all the RVers out there) and fully recommend people to stop here.

Amazing historical tour a bit off the beaten path. The tour is full of great stories and rich history telling of the American dream of small business making it happen. Thank you TJ for the great tour, culture, information, and entertainment. Thank you for your service as well. The whole team including Rick and Roger were very friendly and welcoming. Driving in to a ghost town atmosphere you wouldn't expect to find this gem of a place. A paradigm of small business go-getters finding a niche market for rum that is natural, organic, hand made using a vintage process rum from local cane sugar crops. Wow, an amazing story that pairs well with delightful flavors and aromas. The crew has military veterans and is military friendly with a discount. Wife tasted the rum and the kids tasted the sweet syrup. Overall fantastic experience!

Attended distilling company met by employee Theodore who provided a detailed tour of the distilling process. Theodore was most informative and certainly knew his company. The displays of various rums was very professional and samples were there for your tasting. This tour is well worth the time to learn how thos company works and where there rums are available, Bottles of rum and syrups are available for purchase.

We traveled over to Richland Rum while camping at Cotton Hill. Our visit was will worth the time.
We meet TJ when we entered and he set us with Rodger for our tour.
I must admit I really didn't know much about rum other than my rum & coke days in the US Navy (TJ & Rodger also served in the United States Navy).
Our tour was very educational, from sugar cane field to bottle, thanks Rodger!
The tasting was presented to us by TJ, again the education was exceptional (tasting were free). Who knew that so many aromas and different tastes could come directly out of each barrel.
We purchased several bottles along with other items from the gift center.
We would highly recommend you visit, you won't be disappointed.

I was in Richland visiting a friend for the weekend and this place was at the top of my list for things to do in the area. The tour was very informative and loved being able to sample the expressions. I picked up the cocktail book and also a book about the history of Rum. I also loved how the block of buildings had been renovated for the distillery but the character and vintage features remain.

We almost passed this place up as it is off the beaten path but I’m glad we didn’t. The Richland folks have transformed a block of buildings into a first-class distillery. The tour is excellent and our guide, TJ was extremely knowledgeable. The rum is among the best that I have ever tried. Well worth the visit!

Took the tour and Tarik was our guide, Tarik is the distiller and has a wealth of knowledge. Rick is also a tour guide. Both gentlemen were fantastic, and knew the ins and outs of the whole process. Tarik and Rick are park owners. The Rum tastings were more than I expected, listening to Tarik tell how each (5) rum was distilled and the processed was, to me was the extra added information that rounded it all in one. Thor rum is great, we purchased a wood crate with five different rums in smaller bottles then the ones they sell. I/ we will buy their products again.

The old, historical brick building and copper distilling equipment are beautiful unto itself. Our tour guide was outstanding. He was extremely knowledgeable about the entire process of making world class rum and gave us a complete history of the Richland Company and how it began. Definitely recommend the Distillery and be sure and take the tour. We came away with two bottles of outstanding rum and three bottles of sugar cane syrup that is amazing.

Rick was full of great information, very polite and knowledgeable. Made our experience so fun and relaxing. The atmosphere here is wonderful and the buildings that encorporate the distillery are so beautiful. Both gentlemen that are running the distillery are wonderful, make you feel like home. I am not a hard liquor drinker but I greatly enjoyed their rum. The pineapple cocktail that Rick made was so delicious.

Purchased this on Groupon, Rick was great! very enjoyable to talk to and he also performed over 1/2 the tour for my wife and I. Then he turned us over to Theo..he was a true pro explaining his craft to us with pride. It was a true pleasure to walk and talk with him on this tour. Once tour completed was taken back to store and Rick provided tasting and checking us out , again great service.

I would be good if they opened a little bar/cafe to get something to eat there as it appears only place to eat in town was a pizza place.
