We are on a budget so chose to stay at the Mountain Creek Inn. This was a good choice for us, as we were close to the main things we wanted to see: the butterfly house and the discovery center where the bird of prey shows are held. I work at a resort in Florida, and I was pleased that... More

My wife, Grandson and I visitedCalloway Gardens as she had a Conference there. We have been visiting the gardens for her conferences which are during the "off" season for ten years. This year, the Butterfly house with the Morpho Blue Butterflies was great. The birds of prey show and the Discovery was informative. But, the closure of the Sibley Horticulture... More

Thank you for your post. We are glad that you enjoyed your visit to the Gardens. We apologize that some of it was disappointing. We have shared your post with the appropriate departments with regards to the beach and the cottage pricing. We do believe in the value of the cottages as they are quite a spacious place to stay... This place is a bit of a surprise. For starters, it is fall and if you are expecting flowers and blooms you would be disappointed. But you can drive through forested areas after forested areas and enjoy the peace and quiet. The butterfly solarium and the birds of prey exhibition are worth the price of admission alone. The static museums... More

We made a special detour on our trip to visit Callaway Gardens because of my wife's warm memories of visiting CG with her grandparents in the early 1970s. For the price of admission I felt like there should have been more than some woodland roads to drive around. I drove many miles of very nice woodland roads over the next... More

We are glad that you took the time to make a special detour to visit Callaway Gardens so that your wife could reconnect. Every visit to Callaway Gardens is different. Currently, due to the time of year, there is a little less color to be wowed by. Spring and later in the Fall are spectacular. The is Butterfly Center a... More

We wanted to have our three year old grandchild experience the company of butterflies up close. The butterfly house at this time of year, September, had the Blue Morph butterfly. They were active and large, ideal for a toddler to see. We were lucky enough to see the birds of prey show at the discovery center. They only had two... More

I had been wanting to come here to see the Christmas Lights for years and we finally got the chance this year! It was wonderful! We actually came the last night they were having the lights and I noticed some of the lights had burned out but it wasn't enough to really effect anything. It was a little expensive but... More

Thank you for your post. We are so glad that you were finally able to visit. With eight million lights (and the weather), it is a daily battle to keep all of the lights performing but we have a team of people dedicated to just that. We are preparing now for our 25th year of Fantasy In Lights. We hope... More

Reservations were made for a party of three via telephone reservations, payment was remitted at a rate of $35.00 per person plus tax. Upon arrival at the gate (after an hour and half drive there) , a $20.00 per person plus tax is charged to enter the Gardens. An explanation was provided to the gate guard, the only place we... We apologize for the confusion. We have contacted our phone agents to remind them how imperative it is that they tell guests that gate admission is additional. Once guests are in the Gardens, there is no way to know who just goes to TreeTop Adventure. We hope you understand. We do feel that our rate is very fair considering how... More

Was very disappointed that there were no gardens to see. THe pictures online were probablytaken in the spring when the azaeleas are in bloom. The winds kept the balloons down half the time and there were minimal ones to see. The one great thing was the butterfly building and garden. Don.t miss it. THere are some outdoor things to do... Our website does feature beautiful images from throughout the year. Late Summer is a challenge for anything in color in the South, but we do have a variety of plants in color such as Native azaleas, Devil's Walking Stick, Loblolly Bay, Surprise Lilies and more. Thank you for your great suggestion of "don't miss" the Day Butterfly Center. The Birds... More

We were here before the season opened so many of the sites and attractions were not yet open. March was to early to see much foliage.

Thank you for your visit and post. Traditionally, the last two weeks of March and first two weeks of April are colorful with our world-famous azalea garden. Of course the weather can shirt that either way, so it is recommended to call or visit our website and/or social media ahead of time. We hope that you will visit again in... More
