We decided to take a last minute trip to Callaway with my daughter this weekend. She loves to ride bikes, and Callaway was the first place that came to mind. We only live an hour away so it was an easy trip. We had reservations at the Mountain View Inn, and we'd stayed before 3 years ago and had a... More

This was not the best time to visit the gardens, as in spring and in full bloom, but everything was still beautiful and immaculately maintained. This was a very "slow" week so nothing was crowded, which was nice for us. We were saddened to learn of the closing of Sibley Center. I never got to see this but heard it... More

Love Callaway Gardens. My family and I had a great time exploring all the trails, visiting the discovery center, the butterfly exhibit, the chapel and the old pioneer home. The kids had a blast. I will definitely visit again, maybe when it's not as hot, the August heat was brutal.

On my recent trip to Georgia I took a side trip to Pine Mountain, Georgia to the Calloway Gardens Butterfly Center. The building is a huge glass atrium. I spent several hours there stalking beautiful butterflies. Seconds after I snapped a photo of a brilliantly colored black & orange butterfly, he soared away. You wouldn’t think they would be hard... And your experience is that kind of "connecting man and nature" that our founders dreamed of. Thank you for your visit, for taking the time to share your experience, and for your enthusiasm for Callaway Gardens. We look forward to your future visits. A lovely area with lots of great walking and cycling opportunities. It was a shame that the horticultural centre had closed down and that the boat hire was closed for the season. It's not all about kids holidays guys!!

We went to photograph the butterflies and birds of prey but to our surprise they had a photography exhibit by GNPA. GEORGIA NATURE PHOTOGRAPHERS ASSOCIATION. The exhibit was beautiful and inspirational. We also found out they closed the horticultural center in Nov 2015. That used to be a highlight of the visit to Callaway Gardens.

Thank you for your post and your visit. We are glad that you enjoyed the GNPA exhibit. The horticultural center is currently closed. It's future plans are still in development but we hope that you will continue to visit and enjoy the many beautiful areas in the Gardens and the various seasons that each provide their own reason to visit. Have been here twice and have enjoyed it very much each time. The place is well kept and is worth the price of addmission. It is quite spectaular at Christmas with all of the lights. We usually stay at the Pine Mtn. RV park and enjoy visiting the area sights.

Went with 3 girlfriends & we went to beach and rented a cabana with two chairs, 2 benches, a ceiling fan, 2 foot stools and 2 power outlets for $45 for the day. It was great especially since it was 95+ degrees and sunny. The staff was friendly and helpful. We walked thru the butterfly center and was too hot... More

The Butterfly Farm was amazing with some many pretty butterflies fluttering about. We all were taking pictures with our smart phones but the quality could not compare to those taken by my husband with his Nikon especial those on the butterfly feeder. There also was a pond with turtles.
