We went to Callaway Gardens yesterday and were really pleased with our visit. The azaleas were in full bloom at the Azalea Bowl. Word is that they're blooming ahead of schedule. The gardens were a riot of color. We did lots of walking all over the grounds. The butterfly garden was wonderful as well. It's still early so not very... More

This is a great place to enjoy relaxing with all the seasonal flowers and trees. The Discovery Center is so nice to sit and rest a while in the big rockers. Also nice to meet folks from different areas.

The gardens don't have much going on til spring. We stayed 5 days on site, rented a golf cart, and made the most of winter break. The warm weather allowed my young kids to splash in the lake, play on the beach, do the sapling tree course and more-while I relaxed.

It sounds like you and your family enjoyed your time at Callaway Gardens. Winter is often a little less busy but we are glad that the warm weather timed out well for your visit. And, a golf cart is a great way to really be more in nature while enjoying the Gardens (and who doesn't love to ride in a... More

We have been coming to Callaway Gardens every couple of years for many years. While we expected to see the camellias, daffodils and tulips this time of year, we were unexpectedly delighted to see many of the azaleas already in bloom. Two of our favorite activities at Callaway include the "Birds of Prey" show and a visit to the butterfly... More

In the past, a trip to callaway was a magical experience especially for people who garden. Sadly that is no longer the case. What a let down not to see all the beautiful flowers in the sibley center greenhouse and then ride over and see the vegetable garden. I'm sorry for all the people who won't see that magic. Thank... Thank you for your visit and your post. We apologize for any disappointment. The closings of the two facilities were necessary and unfortunate. However, Callaway Gardens is first and foremost a woodland botanical garden. Our leadership is working hard to stay true to the mission of Founders Cason and Virginia Callaway. From that perspective, the Gardens is still much intact.... More

Visited today after 30 years away. SAD. Gardens look neglected. I drove through the entire gardens and it looks like no one cares much about the place anymore. I worked at Callaway in late 1980s - early 1990s. Then it was magnificent. Hal Northrop was in charge then. Now they only have two golf courses, Sibley Center is gone. Vegetable... More

Thank you for for your post and your visit. Winter is definitely a time when a Garden appears less taken care of and we won't disagree that it is in need of attention. But, we are happy to share that there is much needed TLC starting right now. As we type this, eight horticulture staff are working out of the... More

This was our first time to Callaway Gardens so we were very excited. It was a lot bigger than we thought and you could not walk from your lodgings to the exhibits. We stayed at the Mountain Inn, a little disappointed as we did not want to drive every where. However we did find Robin Beach and I must say... More

We went with friends, family and their little ones...so much to see and do for little folks! We roasted marshmallows, shopped, watched an amazing show and then took the tram to see the lights! The light display goes on and on and on! It's absolutely spectacular! We will certainly return, probably on an annual basis!
