Although this place is permently closed now. There are no signs saying don't trespass. There is a number to call to set up group hikes and horseback riding, but that number is disconnected. I have hiked these trails multiple times its an awesome sight to see they have marked the trees with type and definitions. along with some historical markers, and some signs to teach our young kids. I have taken my cubscout here a few times it has helped him meet some of his requirements for rank advancement.

This place is also in the same area as Ft. Morris and Listed on "The Liberty Trail" We had packed our car to spend the day exploring so we had lots of bottled water, snack crackers, canned weenies, trail bars, and PB & jelly sandwiches. We parked and paid a small fee. Started at the pointed arrows and then just kept walking into the woods. So many trails went left, right, straight and we walked around for hours seeing deer, birds, raccoons, lots of holy trees from wood pecker activity, information boards that tell that fire is beneficial to the land. We saw some people on horseback and we walked and watched until my feet got sore about 3 hours and we returned to our car to eat a snack.

Great way to experience coastal Georgia in a natural setting. Great views of woods and marsh. Great escape from the hustle of modern life

Unfortunately, due to safety concerns of the coronavirus, the Melon Bluff Nature Center and it's trails will not be opening until winter of 2021. Please check back for further updates.

Hello! My name is Jay Morgan and I work for Dunham Farms. We hope to re-open the Melon Bluff Nature Center in Sept., 2020. We are in the process of cleaning and setting up displays this summer. We're also hoping to have the trails open for hiking, bird-watching, and possibly horseback riding. Check back later this summer for further details.
