Loved this park for a short getaway during fall break from Atlanta. We rented yurt #3 which was in great location, access to the lake and nice view, very clean and practical. The bathrooms were incredibly clean and well maintained so was very pleasantly surprised....More
My family rented 3 cabins and a campsite during Labor Day weekend. The cabins were ok inside. They do need to get a exterminator to spray inside and out. Found a big wood spider in the kitchen 5 minutes after walking in the door. Walked...More
My family went for a couple of days before school started. My son loved the yurt! It was hot on the first day but we managed to cool it down with our fan going 24/7 not big deal, it’s summer time. The bath areas are...More
Another well planned and maintained GA State Park. Lots of shady campsites, some were rather tight to get into. Apparently they stay fairly booked for camping but we stayed 2 nights. Huge lake for fishing, boating, swimming area and boat ramps.
This is a state park so it is clean and the bathhouse appears clean. Unless you can get a site next to the lake, this place is very crowded with the sites packed very close. The roads were at best, Terrible!!! I would not try...More
We do a lot of hiking and were down visiting family on lake Hartwell. We all decide to go to Tugaloo for a hike. It is a really nice and not too crowded place. Easy 3-4 mile hikes around the lake. well kept place.
Ramp and dock are great!!! Park pass makes it easy and cheap to use the park. We practice for tournaments out of here. Great camping and beach also. We do a church camping trip out there every year great for kids and adults.
This was our first visit to this state park and it was a very positive one. The sites are well manicured, shaded, and good size for most campers. Many, if not most, of these sites are waterfront. Bathrooms were adequate but limited to 2 showers...More
My 2 kids and I stayed in Yurt #1. The yurt is very roomy, with a double bed, and bunks. The website says the top bunk is a twin, but it’s really more like a double. Other furniture include a small(ish) counter height table and...More

There are Park Rangers living on the property and they definitely patrol the speed of cars on the roads. The camp hosts in each section are also very attentive and watchful. Actually, the thought of safety has never even entered my mind at Tugaloo - probably due to their collective presence. Watchful and friendly but it overbearing.
