About
Our mission at the Biblical History Center is to help people experience the ancient biblical world, its history, and culture. We have an Archaeological Replica Garden with life-size replicas of archaeological digs including a typical house, Roman step theater, goat hair tent, tombs, and more. Our Biblical Life Artifacts Gallery houses 250 artifacts from Israel and is one of seven of its kind in the world! We also have fun activities available for kids and teens. Reservations are required for guided tours, the Biblical Meal, the Shepherd's Bread, and the Kid's Dig.

We really enjoyed our visit to the Biblical History Center. Our guide was super informative and entertaining. The exhibits and our guide gave us cultural information of Jesus's time that filled in gaps, making the Christmas story more plausible and meaningful. The meal was delicious and added even more info to our understanding of Biblical times. We plan to come back in the spring for the Easter tour.
It was pretty hardy to believe this type of exhibit would be located in tiny Lagrange, Georgia. They do a really good job bringing the Bible alive.
Tips: Wear comfy shoes and dress accordingly to the weather as the majority of the tour is outside. It was all covered, but it was chilly in late December and we needed a jacket. The tour doesn't require much much walking as the entire facility is pretty compact. However, some of the ground is uneven. One of the tour participants was elderly and required assistance from her family to navigate in a few places. They provide some places to sit at various stops. However, this was mainly rocks and boulders that were very cold. You might bring a small blanket to place on the rocks before sitting. During the pandemic, for the most part, it is easy to keep 6 feet apart . However, there is one spot where you view the artifacts from Israel. It is in a climate and light controlled environment that is pretty tight. Bring a mask or skip this part if you are worried. However, the artifacts are very interesting and it would be a shame to miss them.

We were looking for something to do with our out of town guests. We paid about $40 each which included an outdoor guided tour , Jewish sit down lunch and about 30 minutes in their museum. It was a quality facility with very knowledgable guides. I recommend touring with a guide vs. trying to do it on your own. The tour points very much toward Jesus and we all enjoyed the experience.

Outstanding & factual presentation that truly made the Bible come alive. Our guide/host was Carol & she did a remarkable job taking us through the last week of our Lord & Savior Jesus Christ's life. Can't recommend or speak highly enough about our experience at the Biblical History Center.

It may be due to the subtle difference in UK English language and USA English but we understood from the title of this museum that it was a history of the Bible rather than an Archaeological history. The latter was of less interest to us and perhaps has coloured this review. We also felt that the museum could have been more forthcoming in regard to admission charges. These are not displayed at the entrance and you only become aware of the actual charge, excessive in our opinion, when you purchase your ticket. The brochure we found quite confusing and not adequately explained by the young lady who escorted us to the interior entrance.

A diamond in the rough, the Biblical History Center was a WONDERFUL place to get a glimpse of what life might have been like during the days of Jesus. From the sheep's pen to the city market to the crucifixion tree, The BHC really immerses the visitor through their fabulous dioramas and knowledgeable staff. The section of actual Holy Land artifacts was mesmerizing as you look upon actual items found in archaeological excavations! Our fourth graders loved the docents and learned a LOT as we walked through this A+ experience!

It was so realistic and they even have artifacts that are from Biblical times on loan from Isreal. Our tour guide was very knowledgable and answered questions that were presented to him. This is a must see if you are in the area. Be sure you partake in the last supper that is cooked in the kitchen , it costs extra but is well worth it. thank you Vern, our tour guide !!!

Exhibits very interesting, along with genuine artifacts from Israel supplemented with replicas. But what really brought it all to life was our guide (docent?), Carol. Very enthusiastic and knowledgeable. Would love to return some day and experience the meal event. The gift shop area was a bit sparse, but that wasn’t a big issue. A very enjoyable couple of hours.

This was one of the best experiences my friend and I have ever had. The tour guide was beyond compare, our favorite part was the Jewish dinner that was served. She explained every part and it was so meaningful. I highly recommend the Biblical history center

The ancient treasures from Israel are amazing. Because I was with a small group (7) for the first time, I really got to look at them and the guide at the same time. Greg did a great job on the group tour. We learned some fascinating things about the cross and Passion week.
The meal too was full of interesting information. Food was good especially the spinach dip. One of our group thought he would have enjoyed eating without the continual commentary from the guide.
At the end of the tour our guide refused a personal tip because he says he doesn't need one because he loves doing the tours.

Hey there!
We are open Tuesday-Saturday 10.00-5.00 each day in December leading up to Christmas. We will be closed from Sunday December 22 - January 1 to spend time with our families during the holiday season. We'll be back at it on January 2.

Hi Jennifer!
We welcome families of all ages and sizes to visit with us. As Carley said, the Garden is stroller friendly, and we do have many replicas, like tombs, the house, a watch tower, etc, that little ones would enjoy exploring.
At present, our children's programs are geared towards children aged 6 and above. We hope to have more programs in the future that are geared towards younger children.
Please do visit with us soon! And let us know if you have anymore questions.

How much does this museum cost?
BHC_Staff
LaGrange, GA
Hi Lisa B!
Pricing depends on what you would like to do here. If you would like to just visit the Garden and Artifacts Gallery, the pricing is $15 per adult and $12 per child. If you would like to take part in the Biblical Meal, the price is $35 per adult and $22 per child. That price does include a guided tour in the Garden and Gallery.
We highly recommend reservations as that is the best way to ensure that you all will have a tour guide. To make a reservation, please call Penny, our reservationist, at 706-885-0363.
What is the price for ages 7 -15
BHC_Staff
LaGrange, GA
Hi Dorothy!
The pricing of our programs varies. If you all are coming to do a self-guided tour, that cost is $15 per adult (everyone ages 13 and up) and $12 per child (ages 6-12). The Biblical Meal is scheduled by reservation. The pricing of that is $35 per adult (ages 13 and up) and $22 per child (ages 6-12). If you'd like to have a tour guide, you must make reservations. Please call us at 706-885-0363 to make the reservations.
Looking forward to seeing you here!

Do they have mobility scooters? Is the walkways rocky (difficult to use my rollator)?
BHC_Staff
LaGrange, GA
Hi Donna!
We do not have power scooters on site, but we do have a few wheelchairs that can be borrowed. If you have your own, you are more than welcome to use it! The ground in the garden is a gravel/dirt floor. We have done our best to recreate the rocky desert of the Middle East. We have many people each week who visit with us that use a walker, wheelchair, or scooter. Hope to see you soon!

Would like to know the price and anything about the meal. My husband is on a cancer diet and need to know about the meal.
Thanks so much........

Hi Amy!!
I apologize for having only just now seen this question! TripAdvisor did not send me the email notification.
The price of the meal is $35 per adult. That price includes the Biblical Meal, a tour in the Archaeological Replica Garden, and a tour in the Artifacts Gallery. You will have a guide with you throughout the entire visit. Reservations are required, and I recommend calling to make that reservation at least 2 weeks in advance as we fill up quickly.
The Biblical Meal consists of 15 food items that were available in the ancient world! There's chicken, soup, salad, fruits, veggies, nuts, humus, artichoke dip, a Middle Eastern dish called Haroset that's sweet, bread, grape juice, water, and wine if requested. It's a very tasty meal that you eat with your fingers! They didn't have forks, knives, and spoons in the ancient world, so neither do we! ;)
Hope that better answers your question! And again, I apologize for the delay. Please call us with any further questions. We're more than happy to help!
