Not the best place for a couples retreat or peace and quiet. We thought we could rest, relax and rewind by the river. Website indicates that check in is at 1 pm. Pay no attention to that. No one else does. If you want to be first in line to pick your spot, then be here when the park opens.... More

High Falls is great for hiking fishing or just a picnic. Also has pavilions for the whole family. If you have never been it's worth checking out. Can never go wrong being in the outdoors.

We joined a family camping for 2 nights at the state park. The campground was clean, staff very friendly and accommodating. The trails to walk next to the river and through the woods were very nice, the views of the river and falls spectacular! The trails across the main road from the dam and canoeing lake were especially beautiful and... More

So here we are, on our way to Gatlinburg Tennessee and we found this park not too far into Georgia. I originally found the park on the RoadTrippers app, you can locate parks, points of interest, and attractions from your location. High Falls State Park is amazing! The skies were a little overcast but a waterfall is a waterfall. There... More

First time in a yurt; It was a blast and the park was beautiful. Had made reservation 2 weeks previous, to stay on our return trip home from FL. Reserved a yurt, so I had packed sleeping bags & sheets. High Falls weather forcast on the day before our scheduled check in, was rainy so we came close to canceling.... More

Wow, this is a beautiful park. We went the day after a very large storm and the water was rushing over the dam and through the rapids. We did a little hike (only about one and a half miles) but it was just gorgeous. It is not far off I-75 a great little escape in Middle Georgia.

This a fun place to visit for the day or camp there. Plenty of things to do and see. We did a lot of camping, hiking, geocaching, and playing by the water.

We decided to stay in a yurt for spring break. Best decision ever! The kids played outside the whole week. No electronics. Best value for an even better price

It took us about 45 minutes to get to High Falls State Park in Jackson, GA from Riverdale, GA. Of course we went to the Visitors Center first to check in. Other folks were meeting us there. Today we didn't have to pay the $5 park entrance fee. The gates was open today. We were going to do the more... More

We visited this park March 8th on our way to Florida. We stayed at the Lake campground beside the yurts. We were welcomed by the park host and had no problem getting a two night stay at a great scenic site. The falls trail offered excellent views of the falls & rapids. We will be back for sure next year.
