- Rjw181 contributionsWOW! What fun!You gotta give this a try, it is a lot of fun. It's like a roller coaster but on ground level. The first ride is $17 and the 2nd ride is half price. You get on a sled that is secured to metal rails. Once the sled gets to the top of the hill you begin a fast & wild ride back to the bottom on steep straightaways and banked hairpin turns. There are hand brakes on the sled if you get worried you are going to fast. The wife is normally scared of things like this but she loved it and wanted to go again.Visited October 2023Traveled with familyWritten November 25, 2023
- Jo CTifton, Georgia8 contributionsDon't brake! It was OK. The best part is you control your cart's speed. You start out going behind the building and up a hill several feet on a cable. Then, you are released to run the track at your own pace. I think the maximum speed is 21mph. They space you out to start with and have markers every 80 feet so you don't bump anyone. We had six in our group that road. We all wanted to see who could ride full throttle and "not brake". I think we all did. It's a quick busy of adrenaline. Not too much, but enough to make a fat person think their cart would jump track. All in all it was fun and not overly expensive.Visited December 2023Traveled with familyWritten December 26, 2023
- Dot V2 contributionsSo much fun! This ride was so much fun. My husband and I are Seniors (77 yrs. old each). We drove to Helen, Ga. from Atlanta, Ga. to celebrate our 58th Anniversary. It's around 2 hours from Atlanta depending on the traffic, of course. I thought this would be fun but I was nervous too. Depending on how often you brake, it goes really fast. It probably wasn't longer than a 10 min. trip down but so much fun. You are strapped in and the curves aren't too tight. I put my husband in the coaster ahead of me because I thought he would brake less than me but it turned out to be the opposite. You pay full price for the first time and 1/2 price for another ride. Plus, they honor Vet's with a discount. I would definitely do it again.Visited March 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten March 26, 2024
- MainzerDeLand, Florida363 contributionsGreat time for allI ‘ve seen these on Facebook and thought I would give it a try. Fun, quiet ride, and you control your speed. They do offer a military/ veteran discount just show your ID card. Nice time and I enjoyed every minute.Visited April 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten April 21, 2024
- lindsaystongelmhcAltamonte Springs, Florida619 contributionsSo much fun!Faster than you expect them to be when you see them. It’s awesome you can control the speed however. They show you before you go. Girls have to put hair in a bun before riding. The second trip is half off. They have a small gift shop with drinks and a restroom.Visited July 2024Traveled with familyWritten July 7, 2024
- Erica CMiddleburg, Florida18 contributionsSo much fun! Must do!My teen girls wanted to do the Georgia Mountain Coaster. They really enjoyed it. The parking lot is spacious. The bathrooms are clean. They take a picture of each person on the coaster. You can buy the picture for $9 afterwards. Family members can wait inside the building while your crew rides the coaster. If you want a 2nd ride, it is half price on the same day.Visited July 2024Traveled with familyWritten July 10, 2024
- Harriette MNewnan, Georgia8 contributionsExperience the thrill of fast-paced fun that's totally worth it!We had an amazing time on the track - it was exhilarating and fast-paced! As the ride begins, your cart ascends the incline, followed by some gentle curves. Then, as you arrive at the "push down" area, you're off, feeling like you're soaring while still in command. Cameras along the track capture those priceless expressions. This experience is perfect for all types of travelers, but especially for kids who absolutely love it!Visited July 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten July 17, 2024
- queenofthebearsAtlanta, Georgia60 contributionsFun Time!I had never done a mountain roller coaster before, but this was so much fun. It was fall in Helen, GA so it was crowded with Octoberfest and fall foliage visitors. The line was quite long but moved pretty quickly. The ride is a little pricey, but I think it was worth it. You can purchase an additional ride at a reduced rate. As someone older but in relatively good shape the car was easy to get in and out of. You can control the speed that you go. Instructions are posted and clearly explained how to do so. The ride was fun and the scenery beautiful. I would definitely do this again when visiting the area.Visited November 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten July 27, 2024
- Jonathan B148 contributionsFast and fun!The coaster was a lot of fun, given you aren’t stuck behind someone going super slow. The track is safe and at times you can really fly! But the only down sides to the ride is 1) it’s too short! We want one longer lol and 2) you are at the mercy of whoever is in front of you. If the person in front of you goes fast, you get to go fast. If they go slow, you have to go slow. It can really suck lol I say go for it! Have fun!Visited August 2024Traveled with familyWritten August 1, 2024
- Lori KPalm Beach Gardens, Florida16 contributionsA Fun ExperienceThis was our first time riding a mountain coaster and we really enjoyed it! My only complaint is that it really stinks when you’re the family that wants to rip it down the mountain but the slow moving family is in front of you…they enjoy their ride, I don’t enjoy mine. Maybe the attendants should ask guests want kind of ride they want and organize them as such. Let a group of speedsters go, then let a group of slow pokes go, and so forth.Visited July 2024Traveled with familyWritten August 2, 2024

It's always amazing to me how they can find time to change the price in their computer systems and on signs around the place but they never get round to updating the website where most visitors will look first before they arrive. Now, it's only a $1 increase per ticket I know but with a family on a budget with repeat options that adds up. Shame on you for that low tactic.
The ride itself was enjoyable and the kids enjoyed it. No wait but certainly overpriced all things considered. Would not do it again.

When planning our visit to Helen (an adorable town by the way) I wanted to include something fun for our teens and my adult daughter.
They loved this coaster and rode it twice. The second time my daughter was disappointed because the person in front of her was scared and going super slow so she really had to slow down so as not to run into them.
I didn't ride it but looking back wish I had because you do control your own speed and it seemed pretty fun. My daughter's loved it and thought it was the highlight of their trip to Helen.
The owners were wiping down the coaster after every person and they had hand sanitizer that you could use before getting on. Everyone we saw was wearing masks and staying 6 feet apart so it was COVID safe as well.

You go to the trouble to find and check out their little faux Alpine/Bavarian village and the first thing they do is charge you $10.00 to park your vehicle. Not too big a deal compared to the rest of the expense of getting there [an extra hotel night in Atlanta and the drive] but we didn't like the idea of it. The parking lot of the Welcome Center has a sign saying the parking is for Welcome Center visitors only and all others will be towed. We went inside and quipped about the irony of a Tow Away zone at a Welcome Center and received puzzled looks and blank stares in response. [We did enjoy the comical contrast between the authentic southern accents and traditional Alpine costumes.] After visiting several souvenir shops and seeing enough T-Shirts, trinkets, and other junk Made in China to last us a lifetime, we went to sit down at a restaurant to order food and drink but they would not let us in unless each of us bought $10.00 of "store credit." We had planed to spend a lot more but were insulted by the requirement that we pay a token amount in advance just to be let in. I have never had a restaurant or bar treat me like that ever but I didn't take it personally because they treated everyone like that. The whole place was very impersonal and even felt dirty. We left and never looked back.

This is one of those things that you do for the unique experience, but just once is enough so you can say you’ve done it. It’s is a lot of fun because you can control the speed on the way down and it is beautiful ride on the way up. The only reason I can’t give it five stars is that the price is a little steep considering the length of the ride. The line was a little long at the time we chose to ride it (early afternoon), we waited about 30 minutes and started pretty much at the parking lot. But that was our poor choice, later on while we walked around we noticed there were certain times of the day when the line was much shorter.

Our family of 4 (with a 3 year old and a 14 year old) absolutely LOVED this ride. Ride is about 1 1/2 mins, but is so enjoyable. The ride is a little pricey for the short trip, but a second ride is half price. We did get lucky and was able to get off our first ride and walk straight back and ride again with no wait. Will definitely visit again. Price was worth our smiling faces afterwards!

We had such a great time, we took our son for his birthday. Wasn’t too crowded and they followed social distancing, masks and wiping down all the carts. My kids loved it, we went a second time. First time I used the brake- loved that I could control the speed but the second time went much faster. We missed seeing baby bears on the mountain by a few minutes. Great family fun for all ages.

We love mountain coasters and alpine slides. This had the cars locked into the track so you felt like you could really open it up and go full speed, which we did. It was fast! And felt safe! We went towards evening when the lines were much shorter. They were COVID safe and wiped down the slides after each person. Lockers are available for your personal items. Prices were reasonable but wished it were a little longer ride.

My daughter is a thrill junkie like her dad. She loves the mountain coaster which is directly across from our hotel (Heledorf River Inn). You can go as fast or slow as you want (we always go fast). It goes up and down through the mountain (beautiful views) and they even give you a discounted rate if you decide to go again that day. We always doing during the day and then again at night. Awesome family adventure!

This coaster has almost half the ride going up the hill being towed by a wire. (We rode a mountain coaster in Pigeon Forge in December and it was a lot longer and better than this one. It had mini hills and charging rails along the way to help power the sled.) We waited 40 minutes in line for a 2 minute ride. It was fun, but not worth the wait nor $15.

This is a short ride, so be prepared for that. If the wait is too long then I’m. It sure I would wait in the sun for it. It goes quick though and is fun. You can ride tandem or solo and you control the brake so go fast or slow. It’s up to you.
