About
Recently renovated, the 6,698-yard, par-72 Preserve course at Reynolds Lake Oconee was designed originally by noted architect Bob Cupp, along with U.S. Open Champions Fuzzy Zoeller and Hubert Green. The Preserve course takes advantage of the natural rolling topography with the end result being an immensely playable course, with back tees challenging enough for low handicappers and forward tees forgiving enough for beginners. Recently added to The Preserve course is the new Quick Six course, a fun and unique six hole "course within the course."

Reynolds Plantation is a golfers paradise, with a choice of 6 golf courses. Situated halfway between Atlanta and Augusta it provided our group of 11 with and ideal prelude to The Masters. We played both The Landing and Great Waters courses and thouroughly enjoyed both courses. The scenery is breathtaking and the quality of both courses is excellent. The facilities are great and would love to go back and spend some more time at this idealic resort. the service provided by the Reynolds staff was excellent.

With mixed tees for both men and women, there are lots of fun and challenging tees to play from. Course is in good condition and the staff are friendly especially the starter, Peter. He is such a friendly and kind person.

Stunning vistas, fairways, and the greens are the absolute best I’ve ever played on. Amazing grass in perfect condition.

We took a golf trip to Reynolds this week, and played the Plantation course among our rotation. The course has been re-done with new greens and a few new bunkers. The clubhouse is totally closed. The bag boys did not mention it to one of our group who walked to several doors of the clubhouse trying to get in. The bathroom is a trailer right now. The starter was the only welcoming person we encountered.
Overall, the course was fun to play- not too hard.
The service was just surprising. I have felt on this trip that as visitors to the area that we are not especially welcome. We can't call directly to coordinate tee times, and when we are asked to pay it is a different price than we were quoted. The rangers were upset with us even though we played in 4 1/2 hours, and no one ever was behind us waiting. We were in sight of the group ahead of us, but they were not happy that we werent right behind them. We wanted to consider a replay round, but they could not be definitive about what it would cost until we finished our original 18, then told us they had nothing for us even though the first tee and range were completely empty. We are not a demanding group, but this was very surprising service.
I have liked it here at Reynolds, but it seems that they really dont cater to traveling golfers at all.
I would not mind playing the course in the future if I did not feel so unwelcome.

The Preserve is playable for the average golfer while still offering a number of ponds and sand traps. There are some holes with elevation changes and slopes to make it challenging. This course has the typical Reynolds design with each hole being separated to itself and any housing is far enough away not to be a factor. Some seating in the restaurant has views of #18 to watch the golfers approach the green and do putting.

This is a shorter but challenging course. The course was designed by Bob Cup and Fuzzy Zoehler and has recently been updated. While shorter than the other Reynolds Lake Oconee courses, it presents a good test for and especially ladies and younger men.

The Plantation Course is the true definition of a resort course. The fairways are generous, the greens are accessible and there aren't too many sand traps. Golf was easy. Experienced players will be bored. Overall it was a good day at the Ritz Carlton Reynolds plantation.

Great place for a golf vacation that is not too expensive. All the courses were in good shape and the service was excellent. They will provide an aerification schedule to help plan the golf, and in the summer it is not crowded at all. We played 27 holes each day.
