Lovely walk
Jul 2020
We had a lovely Sunday afternoon walk along the trail by Rock Creek. It was about 1 mile roundtrip. Even though it was hot, it was nice under the shade of the trees.

Nice playground. Great walking trails between park and downtown. Close to Lake Lanier. Close to high school tennis courts

Quiet & Shady
Aug 2019
The walking trails are surfaced; almost entirely shaded; scenic (on Lake Lanier) and just an easy walk. There are some hills, but easy to negotiate. A covered bridge. Large trees. Just a very scenic and easy walk. Kids playgrounds are also available.

Walk in the park
Jun 2019 • Friends
My friend and I have been walking Wilshire park for the last year. It is a beautiful park to walk with just the right amount of hills and flat surfaces. The trees are beautiful and they just fixed the gardens and added signs. They have also rebuilt a bridge and steps. The covered bridge is a place to get out of the rain if necessary. The park is often used as a photo shoot for photos. We do enjoy our walk in the park every day. Hope to see you there.

Nice Park with Great walking trails.

I grew up playing at Wilshire Trails Park. I am pleased to say the park is still a very nice destination if you enjoy scenic walking and jogging trails. The playground equipment is very nice also, but in almost direct sun. Let your kids play when the temps are a bit cooler if they like to slide. The walking path is scenic, well maintained, and mostly in shade. My wife is an artist, and kept remarking on how picturesque the trail was. If you enjoy a longer walk/run, you can go from the Gainesville Square to Wilshire to Longwood park for a nice lengthy run.

Walk here a lot. Part of our Solar System trail. Great for kids with nice playgrounds. Parking lot available. Most of the trail is shaded. No charge for normal use.

Relaxing

Went to relax & read. Enjoyed the outdoors and saw groundhogs, birds and bees. Took in everything. Next time I'm in Gainesville I'll be back.

A very interesting park.

Really more of a walking trail through a small little dip in the woods. I enjoyed the secluded feeling of being surrounded by the small little valley. Very much like a full blown forest feeling, right in town.

small intown park with local flavor
Oct 2018 • Family
it's a small place. enough parking to keep it close. covered pavilion for party or incase of rain is clean and well maintained. playground equipment is kid friendly and up to date. walking trails are good sized and clear with bridges over creek. Good tree canopy, It's a nice shady park, quiet and serene tucked away in the corner unobtrusive like. we like to sit and watch the kids play, ours and theirs. kids here get along for the most part, more giggles than tears.

Really nice park/trail
Oct 2018 • Solo
I visited the area to do a little geocaching. The trail and park are really nice. The only thing I didn't care for was a few homeless people sitting around and sleeping on the park benches.
