Chose this shop from lonely planet. After 2 dives on day 1, we knew this was the right dive shop for us! We are both rescue divers and chose to do a total 8 dives with Marlon, Mr Banda, El Capitan and Gloria. They chose different spots each time, managed expectations on visibility and sights on offer.
To list a few, turtles, rays, morays, lobster and beautiful fish and coral. The coral variety was the highlight for us. Beautiful colour and abundance of life.
The key for us with Banda is the personalised service! We dislike “farm-diving” and the maximum on a dive for us was 3-4 and this was perfect. It felt like a personal playground. Gloria in the office was accommodating and patient with us and handled all the admin, thank you.
Mr Banda and El Capitan were excellent hosts and made us feel very safe and all time.
The star of the show was Marlon. His energy and gusto for each and every dive was refreshing. His briefs were thorough and professional and even underwater you could feel the excitement building towards his “surprises”. He is an asset to Banda.
Would recommend this dive shop to all divers of any calibre.

First of all, super friendly staff from the minute you enter this well organised and clean dive shop!
You get your paperwork done at the office with the helpfull ladies, then grab your equipment chosen by the diving guides and have a seat on the terrace overwatching the sea and johnny cay.
The guides are strict with there rules on the boat from the moment your going on board, what I think shows how important safety to them is.
After short boat rides you will get to the dive spots, get the safteyinstructions and have plenty to discover under water.
Last but not least you get good equipment for your dives! We've checked out a couple of dive shops, this one is the best choice.

I could not possibly speak too highly of this shop. We took our recently pool-certified 10 year-old daughter here last week to introduce her to open water diving. As PADI-certified divers since 2007, we've seen the whole spectrum and had some concerns about how our little one would be coached, but we had 0 reason to worry. Banda not only provided the most professional & personal diving experience I ever had, but their instructor, Missael, was brilliant with our kid. Ultimately patient, supportive, comforting and stern, he brought it all to the table. Now she can't wait to get back into the BCD. THANK YOU SO MUCH!

We booked 3 days with two dives each. The instructors Misocal and Marlon are really nice dudes and they are great at their jobs. The equipment is as good as new and clean. All 6 dives were in different spots and each was very good.

I went to Banda Dive shop with some friends who wanted to dive. I'd not done it before so took a discovery "course" and Misael was my instructor. He was great. There were two people in the class, me, an American, and a Brazillian woman. He spoke to each of us in our native languages as he taught.
I loved it so much I ended up getting certified for Open Water scuba at their shop.
Everyone at the shop from those in the office to the dive guides are friendly and enthusiastic.
It was a great experience.
Also, the diving was great! I saw nice coral, lots of fish, a turtle, an eel, and lots of rays.

We certified our 2 teens (14 and 12) in Dec 2022 and initiated their cousin (21) to a mini dive, all with Banda dive and with Marlon Marrugo as instructor.
Marlon is the perfect mix of high energy, fun, patience, kindness, professionalism and deep technical knowledge; he helped our kids relax and at the same time focus and more importantly enjoy the dives.
He was patient with beginners, taking all the necessary time to help him relax and finally enjoy diving.
If you dive in San Andres, as a beginner or an experienced diver, ask for Marlon!!
Marlon is the perfect mix of high energy, fun, patience, kindness, professionalism and deep technical knowledge; he helped our kids relax and at the same time focus and more importantly enjoy the dives.
He was patient with beginners, taking all the necessary time to help him relax and finally enjoy diving.
If you dive in San Andres, as a beginner or an experienced diver, ask for Marlon!!

I dived with this center and everybody is careful and listening to your need. Marlon the instructor make you feel confortable and is a great professional. Shout out as well to Julian the captain (even though he does not respect his bets).

I have done my open water dive course
at banda dive shop, and it was the best experience I have ever had in the open water.
My Dive instructor Marlon has done an excellent job and was very professional.

Do yourself a favor and take the class with this guys, great schedules, excellent service, all the knowledge and experience necessary to make you feel comfortable (I feel like my review sounds like Im an employee lol but no), I just had the best time those 3 days I took my class with them. I was recommended by a friend and so glad I did. GRACIAS!!!

Really good diving experience!
I really enjoyed diving with this school! All the equipment was new, the school is well located and the staff is really nice and i did my first night dive with them... of course in addition to San Andrés beautiful dive scene! You can see turtles, rays, lobster, octopus, crabs, trumpetfish and many school of fishes!
Would definitely go back to this school when I’m back in San Andrés!!
I really enjoyed diving with this school! All the equipment was new, the school is well located and the staff is really nice and i did my first night dive with them... of course in addition to San Andrés beautiful dive scene!
