About
Engelheim Vineyards is a "farm winery" in that the entire process from vine stem to glass stem is performed on the estate. Our guests primarily visit the tasting room where they can enjoy our award-winning wine with a tasting, by the glass, or by the bottle. Once you've selected your wine at the bar, you can relax in our large seating area inside OR outside on the deck or below at picnic tables. At any given time, our menu offers 15 - 20 wines ranging from dry to sweet. Our deck is enclosed during the winter hours for your comfort. We have live music every Saturday/Sunday afternoon with local artists in a variety of styles (Americana, country, folk, etc). Meat & Cheese plates are available should you wish to stay and enjoy your wine. We look forward to your visit to "Experience a Taste of Heaven"!

My husband, daughter and I visited while we were on vacation in Ellijay at the end of July. There was not a tour available but we had a tasting. We liked that we each could choose the wines we wanted to taste. I choose all whites, and my husband and daughter had a mix of reds and whites. Our favorite was the award winning white. We also enjoyed a chocolate truffle made with red wine. They were dangerously delicious. We walked around the vineyard after the tasting. We purchased a bottle of their EngleWeiss wine. We went to drink it 2 or 3 weeks later and it was soured. Yes, we had stored it properly. Very disappointing.

Experience was so good we went twice during holiday break. Visit #1 with wife enjoyed great service during tasting, great wines and awesome sunset. They had great live music at indoor terrace. Visit #2 with a party of 25+ with teenagers was the most amazing experience of our family/friends holiday vacation. Hands down best service, friendly staff even after a busy day. Met owner who allowed our large party accommodation at the indoor terrace/deck so we could enjoy great wines in great comfort 45 min after closing. Can’t say enough about the staff. This is a great vineyard, run by service-oriented team...will absolutely visit again. Bought few bottles and all chocolate truffles (to die for) available. During our North Georgia holiday we visited 18 wineries/vineyards and this was our best experience. Do not miss this place when visiting Ellijay.

We move in the heart of North Georgia wine country; and there are a lot of good wineries
We close on a beautiful Saturday to try a winery that’s we had not visited before; Englehart.
What a great experience! Located just north of Elijay in a scenic mountain setting. You will notice the German influence first in the buildings and then the interior of the tasting room
It was Saturday and they had music on the patio, so the setting was perfect!
Now to the wine; it started when we asked if we had been there before; answering no, we were told the fascinating history and facts of the winery! How refreshing.
We tried two different tasting flights; one white and one red. How wonderful to sample 8 wines, and like all of them. Dry, fruity, forward wines, soft tannins, each excellent. That doesn’t happen in my world very often; it’s a very high compliment
Particularly their lightly packed Chardonnay, or Vidal Blanc wonderful white wines
Their Doxology red blend will convert any non believer. Fruit forward, nice tannins, balanced wine, that’s a bottle that should go home with any red wine drinker
Our server, Emily made the afternoon with her knowledge and hospitality

We really enjoyed our stop at Engelheim vineyards. We visited during off-peak time, and were able to sit on the back porch and let our 9 month old crawl a bit after too much carseat time. The relaxing scenery was great, and the wines we tasted were all pretty good. We ended up buying 2 bottles.

This was an all around great experience. The setting is beautiful and invites you to linger and enjoy. The wines where delish and the servers were knowledgeable and friendly. They were also wearing masks so it helped us feel safe.

Nice tasting and pretty view. Wish we had not just had lunch. Engelheim came highly recommended by friends. I would love to come back sans the 20 year old or when he is 21. The bartender was knowledgeable and helpful.

On our Georgia mountain vacation we saw that the ratings were very good here so we tried it out. The wines are delicious, great atmosphere and friendly plus helpful staff. We highly recommend Engelheim Vinery.

Stopped in for a tasting and stayed 2 plus hours enjoying their wine and music on the porch. Friendly and knowledgeable staff and many very good wines. Also tasted the Hummingbird Bites (chocolate cake soaked in wine and covered with chocolate) which was delicious. Although we did not try the meat and cheese board, it looked delicious. Will definitely return!

Unlike many of the vineyards this site has a ton of parking! Very kind staff, good wines and meat/cheese plates with live music on Saturdays. Broad variety of choices, overall a good profile on the ones we had. Very cute property house.

We visited this winery during a family trip. It was beautiful and we were able to bring lunch and eat there. I did a wine tasting and bought a bottle of their award-winning wine. They let us bring our dog on grounds and even inside. They also have cute merch and wine slushees! Very friendly staff.

Are dogs allowed in the outside area and can tastings be done outside

Engelheim is very pet friendly. The owners have two small dogs. They allow dogs at the tastings, both on the outside porch and inside their tasting room. They asked that dogs be leashed.

is there a fee to tour the vineyard?

You can walk around and explore the vineyard while you are there. There is a fee for wine tasting, and they do offer some winery tours on weekends also.
