Definitely for kids but adults can have fun
Definitely a place for kids but was able to have some fun. We enjoyed the apple picking you pay $18 to get in and activities are included but they're mostly for kids. Then you have to pay for the bag to put the apples in. The price is very from to $20. The petting farm was cool

The kids play area is a little run down.
My wife and I just wanted to pick a few apples, but had to pay $8 each to get into the area where all of the stuff for kids is and then $8 for a 1/2 peck bag of apples. $24 is a little steep for 10 apples. We were there on a weekday so none of the concessions in that area were open.

Great fun for kids! No clean restrooms!!
The 14.00 entry included many activities for the kids. I thought the price was worth it for all the activities. If you have young kids, they will love it! The restrooms are a major problem. They only have porta potty options. They need to invest in restrooms for their customers. The toilet paper was not restocked through the day. I gave them a three for the activities, the food, and the apples. Overall it was a great experience.

We were required to pay 18 dollars each including our 18 month old who was in a stroller and our 3 year old. The old woman at the entrance said the 18 month old needed to pay the 18 dollars to enter if he wanted to get out of his stroller and pet any of the animals at the petting zoo otgerwise he wouldn't allowed to enter this portion as well as any of the other run down not maintained activities. Way overpriced and most employees were rude. It cose pur family of 5 two adults a newborn, and 18 month old and 3 year old 72 dollars just to enter even if all we wanted to do was pick apples. Then you're charged an addional 10.00 or 18.00 per bag of apples you pick. I wouldn't waste the money here and choose the orchard next door which is maintained and children are free to enter under a certain age. Lesson learned.

After finding out where we normally U-Pick apples was not doing it we decided to try Hillcrest because it “seemed” they offered a good amount of activities. They charged admission which was slightly higher and we assumed it was bc of the activities. Well we paid our $56 to enter, that was 2 adults and 2 kids(4&2), then $8 for half a peck of apples. We came with additional family members as well. No one explained where to go or how to find the apples we were looking for. We started walking around the area and managed to do one activity with the kids before the rain started. When it let up we went in search for apples. Quality wise they were pretty rough...flavor is ok but they were still just tough. Once we finished it started raining again so we grabbed a few items to munch on. The items we got were delicious. So they have that going for them. Sat there for almost an hr waiting for the rain to let up and it never did. When we asked for a rain check bc we had only spent maybe 30mins a doing one activity and apple picking...they refused. Said we should wait it out. I have a 4 and 2yo who had already sat waiting for about an hr...that’s so disappointing. They already had way more money than it would actually be worth to visit there giving a rain check would have been kind. Plus we would have come back and actually spent more money bc we had enjoyed a few of the food items. It’s just bad business.

So many great fall activities at this orchard. We came in Oct. 2020 and had a great time with our 7 year old. So many kids activities-great petting zoo, jumping pillow, pedal tractors for younger and older kids, zip line, multiple playgrounds, large slides, horse drawn wagon ride to apple orchard of your choice with plenty of apples, pig races, cow milking, bungee jump and more that we didn't get to in our 6 hour long visit. There was live music on the stage which we enjoyed while having our lunch. The store was well stocked, the apple pies were amazing, and all staff were friendly. Yes, it was crowded but still plenty of room for everyone. Can't wait to go again this year!

The petting farm was a wonderful experience for our children, ages 10 and 12. The two ball-throwing carnival games were also fun. The pillow jump and the zipper swings are only for younger children. My son enjoyed filling a bag with several varieties of apples. Unfortunately, the “fun” area for children is very poorly maintained. The ping pong table nets were not on the tables correctly, and there were no balls to be found. The ping pong paddles looked like they had been left in the rain for quite some time. There were about 5 different corn hole sets set up for teams to play, but there was only a total of two bean bags. The wagon ride only took us around the area that we could walk. We were hoping to be able to take a ride through the orchard. The put put golf was not open. The fairy tale trail needs a good bit of updating. I feel sad writing this review because this orchard has a lot of potential. They need to bring someone in to help them update and re-think through some of their activities so they can be a spectacular tourist attraction for the whole family. At this point, our family will not go back.

Fun place to take the kids. It is a little pricey, maybe charge for kids over 3.Good bit of things to do and see. Petting zoo, tractor rides, several play grounds.

We enjoyed the experience at Hillcrest. There was plenty to do and we found everything clean and well organized. The best part was definitely the swimming pig races. Get their early because it fills up. The mini golf could use some TLC, but was still fun. It was overall a fun time for all. Oh and do yourself s favor and have an Apple fritter - absolutely delicious.

Your trip begins with the crowded parking lot, and to your left you see an effigy being hung from a noose bearing a sign saying "apple thief." You discover upon paying your cover charge that there are no more apples on the trees. "Hm you think, that would have been nice of them to put on their website before I drove two hours here to pick apples. No matter though, I'll make the best of it." So you wait in line in the Georgia heat for 45 minutes with your two small children and their grandparents for a hay ride, but what's this? Both hay ride truck drivers stop at the same time and declare that they "are on break, go enjoy the pig races." As your day ends, you drive out past the hanging figure again, but this time you know who the real "apple thieves" are.

Absolutely the worst service I have experienced from an Apple Farm was at Hill Crest Orchards in Elijay GA. Will never ever go there again. I was treated very badly by the staff at the hamburger stand and when I complained, they did not give a care in the world. Furthermore, not worth the time, effort, energy or money. They claim "you pick" apples but all the apples were harvested and they would not give money back. Horrible customer service.

Just like the title says.. Avoid this over priced tourist trap. Apples are expensive and bad. out of season.. with full price.. You can find better at Aldi's for better price. Staff was very rude.. Like a bunch of Yankees.. Never seen a bunch of employees in North Ga so rude before.. Thought I was in the city.. LOL.. PLease stay away don't waste your time of money.. $7 for kids to pet goats is a joke.. you can do it for free IN Canton.. Cagles corn maze. You have been warned.. Go hear and you will hate yourself. Maybe the owners and staff are from NYC.. Seriously I'm american by birth and Southern by the Grace of god.. Meanist Rude Awful staff I have ever seen in the good southern country.

Negatives: 1) No restrooms (there were portapotties, but we had to supply our own kleenex to wipe)
2) Most of the workers seemed unhappy
3) Animals seemed underfed, especially in the petting area. I felt especially sorry for the poor baby calf whose hip bones were sticking out
4) no changing table (had to change the baby with one parent holding the kid, the other working fast and feeling lucky)
5) Crowded and dusty
6) We felt "nickeled and dimed"--almost all the cool stuff is an extra charge.
7) There were threatening signs everywhere about not picking the apples (without paying). They had a dummy strung up by his neck with a sign "This is what will happen if you steal our apples." Very tasteless, and possibly disturbing to little kids. Honestly, it disturbed me. I understand the need for a sign, but it could have been done in a less mean-spirited way.
8) the website is very slick and professional, but the actual site is very 'mom and pop' with tons of broken, musty, and poorly planned elements.
9) They charged us a full entrance fee for our 1 year old, which NO OTHER venue to this point has done.

Positives:1) We could hold baby chickens (or older chickens, too)
2) We could pet a calf
3) I got to milk a cow (though the worker seemed entirely bored with it and didn't really show me how to do it AND rushed me through it once I got a little squirt out)
4) We enjoyed the live music band (bluegrass?)

We chose not to give this farm any more money than we already had, so we went to a different apple farm (which we found SO REFRESHINGLY better) to buy the fresh apples we were after and have lunch.
