Hidden Gem For Lunch
Dec 2018 • Couples
We were driving on the hwy heading west and needed to find a place to eat. Well, we took a chance on this resturant at the golf club and I'm glad we did.
A lot of locals come here and when we saw that, we knew the food had to be good.
All the servers help each other which was nice. Food came out quick. We ordered a club sandwich and the strawberry spinach salad. Was very good.
If we're ever driving by again, we will certainly stop.

Poor greens
Jul 2017
I used too really love this course but ever since OC WELSH bought it. They have let it go. They still charge the price of a premium course yet some of the greens are really browns if you know what I mean. The are dead and spotty causing putts to bounce all over. Would love to see a true golf enthusiast buy this place. I think OC is just milking it for the last penny.

Fix it or try to compete with Mary calders prices.

Excellent Experience for the whole Family
Jul 2015 • Family
My family and I frequently visit The Black Creek Golf Club. Some of us are avid golfers, some us are not. Nevertheless, this little jewel is so very welcoming, relaxing, and beautiful that we always keep ourselves apprised of all of the family-friendly events (for golfers and non-golfers!) This has always been a great little golf course, but, in 2014, under new management, this course underwent some major improvements. We were there, most recently, for this 4th of July festivities. My husband played in the Red-White-Blue Golf tournament early in the day while the kids and I (and many other families) hung out in the family-friendly grill, enjoyed the bouncy-house for the kids, and feeding the turtles and large carp in the lagoon near the pro-shop. At dark, there was an extraordinary fireworks display. During all of this, a local band (top notch band, I must add) was rocking out with some good old tunes while the adults and kids as well danced and sang along. The staff in the pro-shop and the restaurant welcomes everyone with open arms, attention to detail, and superior service. Unlike some golf clubs, Black Creek is, again, very family-friendly. The guys in the pro shop (Jason, Tom, Mike and Dan) and sweet Gretchen (the newest and most beautiful addition to the previously all-male crew) are eager and enthusiastic about helping anyone, but especially the youths, to learn the game, improve their game, and hone their skills. They have a new chef, and she and her crew are fantastic! There's a lot of goodies for the kids to choose from and the adults can choose from a variety of appetizers, adult beverages, light meals or giant juicy steaks and a variety of seafood options...and all at a very reasonable family-friendly price.
For those who are strictly in love with the great game of golf, you will Not be disappointed in the course. It is beautiful and well-tended. I cannot say enough good things about our Black Creek experiences. I can say that they claim they're planning on even more improvements and activities, but it is difficult to imagine how it could be any better. Thank you, Black Creek, for providing such a wonderful sanctuary for golfing enthusiasts and a family-friendly atmosphere for us.

There are Far Better Golf Courses in Coastal Georgia....
May 2015 • Friends
This course came highly recommended by some golf friends in the area, but sadly we were very disappointed.

Despite a full parking lot and numerous guests, the course felt run down and old.

CONS:
Cart paths are rubble, dirt/dust, or non-existant throughout most of the course.
Greens are tough to get an accurate putt on.
Poorly laid out course; many holes cut back on themselves or are intertwined causing golfers to be all over the place chasing mishit balls. The lack of cart paths also causes chaos on a busy day.
Some tee boxes are in disrepair.

PROS:
Military Discount ($20 cart and green fee)
Friendly staff
Some interestng Par 3 and Par 4 holes.

Bottom line, I would recommend going elsewhere for golf in coastal Georgia. Recommend Carrowinds/Savannah Airport or Henderson Golf Club off exit 94 on I-95.

Great South Georgia Golf Course
Jan 2013 • Friends
One of the most unique experiences I have had lately is nestled in South Georgia, in a little community called Black Creek in Ellabell, Georgia. If you are looking for a great little golf course, look no further. I HAVE FOUND IT!

Black Creek Golf Club is one of the greates golf courses I have ever played. Mr. Eddie Dennis is the owner and Ed Dennis, his son, is the director of golf. These men, along with their friendly staff, Dan, Tom, and the rest ..... even down to the greens keeper will make your visit a memorable one.

The course winds it's way through a quiet neighborhood. It is challenging with five different tee settings. With all the amenities ...driving range, a practice putting green, and snack bar. On the course, the fairways are well maintained and the greens are great.

I spoke with Darrin Hollingsworth, the new manager of Bogey Creek Grill there on the grounds. He spoke of their great new menu selections. The Bogey Creek Grill is open Monday through Sunday for breakfast and lunch, and Friday for dinner with reservations. It is a delightful place to dine!

Black Creek Golf Club is located approximately 25 miles from Savannah, Georgia. From Savannah, take I-16 west to Exit 143, travel west on Highway 280 approximately 2 1/4 miles, turn right on Wilma Edwards Road to Black Creek Golf Clubhouse on the right. The address is 277 Carterwood Drive in Ellabell, Georgia.

Without reservation, I recommend this Golf Club. Great course, great price, and a great staff!

Thank you, Eddie Dennis and staff,

Danny R. Hudson
