My sister recently was married here and it was gorgeous! The architecture and marble just sets the scene alone. It has a very regal yet simplistic look to the building. This place is great for weddings, social events, and/or business events. The Historic DeKalb Center also has an extensive history and is located in the Decatur Square. The square includes many restaurants and shops in walking distance. You can also find other local events and entertainment occurring in the area.

A couple of weeks ago my wife and I spent most of a morning touring this history museum displaying household items and clothes used in Decatur long ago, among other categories of historical stuff..

Our daughter was married here and it was beautiful. With the marble and architecture of the building there was not a lot that you needed to do. The service was upstairs and the reception immediately following was in the entrance way. After the reception we went back upstairs for dinner/dancing. Everything went off without a problem. Would recommend this for a wedding.

We had the opportunity to walk through the museum twice and it was both informative and interesting...small but well presented.

Welcome to the Square in Decatur, where the old Courthouse is one of the first things you notice. A collection of beautifully sculptured bronzes of people relaxing on the benches around.

The exhibits showing the history of DeKalb County were fantastic! It was fascinating to learn more about the area incluiding slavery and its impact, the building boom of the mid-1900s (with some great displays of the wood-paneled family room and pink-tiled bathroom) and to learn more about the people of the area. The building itself is gorgeous too.

We visited this historic site late one Saturday morning. The staff member was very helpful in providing both history and rules of this site. As you might expect, the architecture if fittng for its time making it easy to imagine the events that past therein. If you have the time and/or are in the vicinity do stop by.

To think that I got to sit down and eat in the same room as so many trials took place is astounding. It’s a great venue for parties or weddings now. It’s a grand old palace seeped in Georgia history.

Convenient to Marta and the many restaurants of Decatur, Historic courthouse that is still being used. I hope they can keep it in good repair. They don't make buildings like this any more. A piece of history!

Beautiful place for a wedding. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves!!

My niece had her wedding ceremony there. Lower level was great for a cocktail hour. Plus they were able to have their wedding photos done in the courtyard.
