Our daughter was married here and it was beautiful. With the marble and architecture of the building there was not a lot that you needed to do. The service was upstairs and the reception immediately following was in the entrance way. After the reception we went back upstairs for dinner/dancing. Everything went off without a problem. Would recommend this for a wedding. We had the opportunity to walk through the museum twice and it was both informative and interesting...small but well presented.

Welcome to the Square in Decatur, where the old Courthouse is one of the first things you notice. A collection of beautifully sculptured bronzes of people relaxing on the benches around.

The exhibits showing the history of DeKalb County were fantastic! It was fascinating to learn more about the area incluiding slavery and its impact, the building boom of the mid-1900s (with some great displays of the wood-paneled family room and pink-tiled bathroom) and to learn more about the people of the area. The building itself is gorgeous too.

We visited this historic site late one Saturday morning. The staff member was very helpful in providing both history and rules of this site. As you might expect, the architecture if fittng for its time making it easy to imagine the events that past therein. If you have the time and/or are in the vicinity do stop by.
