We recently took a 3-hr Sunset Cruise on the Captain Gabby with Capt. Moss and his crew member, Clemment. Sitting in comfortable, adirondack chairs on the upper deck we enjoyed spectacular views of the salt marsh, the Sapelo lighthouse, some dolphins, lots of birds, and an incredible sunset. Can't wait to go again, we loved it.

Four of us took a day trip, chartering the Capt. Gabby for a trip around Sapelo Island and Blackbeard Island. Our captain for the day, Willy, was friendly, easygoing, and knowledgable, as was our hiking/kayaking guide, Matt. We had a short hike on Blackbeard, along the beach at the north end and then to the old crematorium. Then we got back on the boat for lunch, before taking a paddle up a marshy tidal creek between Blackbeard and Sapelo. We didn't spend the night on board, but our sense was that it would be great for multi-day trips. They were also very flexible, moving our trip back one day so we could avoid stormy weather.

Me and five friends just did an overnight on the Captain Gabby with Captain Willie and First Mate Clement - recommend full heartedly. Words can not describe the experience- the connection these guys have with the coast, their knowledge of local history, taking us paddling into the beautiful barrier island of Sapelo and Black Beard. Great lovingly restored vessel, rugged yet beautiful - amazing cooking and conversation. Do it. You will Be glad you did. Rating: ten out of ten stars.

This was a truly spectacular trip. Our family of 5 with three teens spent a day trip charter with kayaking to Sapelo Island over Spring Break. We saw so many coastal birds and wildlife. We paddled to a private beach seeing a lighthouse and a shipwreck. Many dolphins were swimming nearby and we could watch them from our kayaks and the beach. Our family was able to explore this beach, with so many beautiful seashells, and cute crabs. It was just us on that part of the planet, no crowds, such a great break from the city. Cindy has a wealth of information about the history of the area and the wildlife which our kids loved to learn about outside of the classroom. The Georgia Coast is so unique and beautiful. So blessed by this trip with our graduating senior. Thanks to Cindy for working around the weather for us!

Oh my! Where to start? I guess with the renovated shrimp boat. Very accommodating for our family of five who loves the outdoors. We are backpackers and tent campers so those beds were an absolute cozy way to sleep outside, on the water! There is a bathroom and shower too, which felt good after the swim in the water.

Captain Moss and Mike were an absolute pleasure to hang with. There was much laughter and sharing the love of outdoors. Both are so knowledgeable and, although we are Georgia residents, we have so much to learn about the Georgia coastline and it's fascinating history as well as ecosystem. We told them to pick the agenda, but if you have specifics they will accommodate if possible.

But hey - learning does not mean boring ... We took a jeep ride on Sapelo Island, walked the beach we had all to ourselves and went kayaking after watching a beautiful sunrise. Kayaking was lots of fun and if you are lucky you may see an alligator, turtle, dolphin, shark, jumping fish and oyster catcher! We even heard the dolphins "blowing" at night. We were pretty lucky!

Worried about missing some comforts from home? Just bring them. We had coffee on board as well as favorite drinks and food. There is a full kitchen galley complete with stove and anything you need for meals. We brought our own food as we did not want to miss any water time ... but they will cook for you if you'd like, for additional $$.

We were only on the boat for 24 hours but we experienced so much. Our family of five needed a roundup as our kids are older and schedules are getting more complicated. It is just what we needed as we have two college age kids and one high schooler - all whom had challenging academic years. This "schools out" getaway was just what we needed. The get together on this boat accommodated all tastes and we had much together and private time. Peaceful, fun, adventurous and scenic.

We only had one night booked but would have loved several! We highly recommend! We were sad to leave the boat and our new buddies Capt Moss and Mike and hope to see them again next time!

Two nights and three days on a converted shrimp boat, 5 people.

Best-ever guides/captains Willy and Moss. Best-ever peaceful motoring from Darien to remote Sapelo and Blackbeard Islands. Best-ever kayaking, shell-finding, and photographing at the "boneyards." Best-ever meals: Fresh-caught fish tacos, Low Country Boil, Shrimp and Grits.

Our family recently sailed for the second time aboard the Gabby......an old converted shrimp boat. We took our two teen age sons and one of their friends on a seagoing adventure that none will forget. Our crew was wonderful.....we shared our meals with them and after three days they felt like family. Although the quarters are tight (that's part of the experience) everything was super clean and lovingly maintained. We walked and swam on totally deserted beaches.....paddled marshes and rivers.....and explored old growth coastal islands...... Relaxation is the name of the game....there is no tv or wifi......we read, drew, played games, and talked. Take your family if you can.....they won't forget it!

Spent a weekend with friends on Captain Gabby and it was a unique, relaxing and fun experience. We kayaked all 3 days and did a nature hike as well. The staff (Cindy and Moss) couldn't have been more friendly, accommodating, knowledgeable or helpful from the initial stages of planning to the weekend itself. We chose to have them provide food and it was excellent, all meals delicious and well prepared. It was a weekend to remember and I highly recommend CGC for any type trip and/or adventure you want to take on the southern Georgia coast. A++

This was one of the most unusual and lovely trips I've been on. Sleeping, dining, and kayaking aboard and from a rustic but refurbished shirmp boat was such a unique, quirky, and fun experience. We absolutely loved it! The sleeping quarters are a tad snug but comfortable and added to the fun. A fan was included for the warmer months. Six of us were on the boat and Captain Patrick and Willy made our trip so comfortable from exquisitely cooked meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner) to wonderful guided kayaking through the creeks off the Altamaha River. The sunrises and sunsets from the rooftop deck were so peaceful and gorgeous. I'd definitely recommend the Capt. Gabby for a really unique and fun river adventure.
