Our least favorite winery of the trip. Lovely setting and the food smelled amazing but we were just there for tasting. Found the wines a bit lack luster and vibe just...off. They were somewhat busy so that may have been it. Did not really engage with staff, it felt more like let's get them through their pours and move on....

There is more than gold in the hills of Dahlonega,
GA. Wolf Mountain Vinyards is a must stop, must see destination. If you think this is going to be just another winery, then you probably think Bentley is just another automobile!
If I had only one word to use, it would be perfection.
Owned, managed, and lovingly operated by multiple generations of the Boegner family, Wolf Mountain Vinyards is a splendid combination of 5 star cuisine and 5 star hospitality service all wrapped in a unique feeling that one is not simply a guest but rather a part of the family.
Whether you choose to stop for the scenery, the beautiful buildings, the award winning wine, the exquisite cuisine, an overnight stay or hosting a wedding, you will congratulate yourself for landing at Wolf Mountain Vinyards.
It is indeed a delicate balance to provide such a high level experience while maintaining the friendly family atmosphere. The Boegner’s have found the recipe!
Put this on your list. You’ll be very glad you did.

We visited the winery for the first time this month. Let me start off by saying we are probably wine snobs. We go to Napa and Sonoma quite a bit and we have yet to find reds (Cabs) that really impress us in Georgia. I loved their port wine, which is something we only buy occasionally. I found it to be smooth and delicious.
We liked some of their whites. We got a flat bread pizza which was good and enjoyed our time there on the upper deck. A fire pit which was a wonderful addition since it was a bit chilly.
The decor is cute and rustic and the view was very beautiful. It reminded me of a winery you'd find in California.
I read that you have to have reservations to eat in their restaurant and since we just popped in I can't comment on that part of it.
If you are afraid of steep narrow driveways I suggest you don't drive to the top but park in one of the lower parking lots and walk. If someone has physical limitations, the walk from the parking lot and up the stairs might be an issue.

Beautiful scenery, good wine... service mediocre.
We visited Wolf Vineyards on a Friday afternoon. It was a great day to be outside on their large deck.
Upon entering the building, there are not clear directions. No one welcomes you in and gives you the scoop on how they operate. You cannot pay at the bar. You have to purchase your wine from the hostess, who wasn't very friendly or accommodating. If you plan on doing a tasting, note that you don't get to choose your wine. It is $25 for 6 pours. (I would say they are a little bigger than at a usual tasting- maybe 2-2.5 ounces.) There is no table service once you leave the bar. We decided we wanted a snack. You have to go back to the hostess to order (who seemed annoyed), and then pick up your food where they prepare it. You pour your own water. The wine is decent. We have been to many wineries where you feel welcomed and waited on. This place just did not have that type of atmosphere.

Met my Sister in Law and her husband here just to get out and do something during Covid 19.
Got there at 2 for a 2:30 Cafe reservation. Decided to do some tasting. Tastings a little on the high side price wise. $20 for 6 tasting and $30 for some Reserve Tasting.
Granted they give you a little more than a taste but we kind of got short changed at the end of the bottles, near closing time.
Had lunch in the Cafe and the Salmon Salads looked great (wife said it was) but I wanted to try there Club Sandwich. The sandwich was on a SMALL Roll but for the price it was OVERPRICED. The sandwich itself was pretty good. My real issue was their French Fries. I am a FF lover. I try everywhere. Don’t get at closing. I know they must have cooked and then dropped them again so they wouldn’t have to cook a new batch. They were UNEATABLE. They were hard as a brick, very disappointing.
I know it’s a little thing but when you spend almost $100 for two tastings and a Cafe Lunch you kind of expect a little more.

Really a disappointment.slow sevice and each wine glass in the tasting was served in dirty glasses with clear smudges. When I brought it to the attention of the server....it turned into a long wait to get a clean glass.......parking is a mess and the atmosphere is right on par with any touristy place....others in the area are much better

The view from the winery was the best part. The inside of the building was very upscale with plenty of areas for seating. The decor on the walls, on the tables and every place in between were very beautifully designed. The outside was absolutely breathtaking with gorgeous views of the mountains from every angle. Parking was a bit of an issue as noted by a steep incline in one of the parking lots but there were other areas for parking for patrons. The overall signs for parking were a bit confusing for first timers. The wine selections were mostly if not all dry options and I prefer wetter wines so this was not a good fit for me. There were food options but seemed overpriced in my opinion. My friend and I decided on a pizza but I have had better pizza from pizza parlors. This was a frozen personal sized pizza that was placed in a brick oven, so for 15.00 I was expecting a lot more. While I know I didn't come here for the pizza, I was hoping the food would pair well and compliment the wine options. I would definitely recommend going for the views but the overall food and wine experience was overrated in my opinion.

My cousin and I recently enjoyed an excellent wine tasting experience at the Wolf Mountain Vineyards and Winery! The location is absolutely breathtakingly beautiful! The selection of wines for tasting was very well chosen and cheerfully presented by our server Sarah Ann…….she is a gem of an employee. In fact, we found every single staff person there to be extremely helpful, friendly, and totally knowledgeable!! You also serve an excellent thin crust pizza….yummy!! We look forward to attending one of your Sunday Brunches soon, Thanks for the peaceful and unhurried visit!

We are wine snobs originally from California so it is tough to find a winery that impresses us here in the east but Wolf Mountain was really a treat. This place is built into the hillside with amazing mountain views. The bar and deck areas are both wonderful places to enjoy on a nice day. The wines are good enough and the food available here is worthy of note. We missed the buffet Sunday brunch but that appeared to be a delightful option as well. The service is friendly and attentive so we consider this place to be a big hit. Do not miss it if you are visiting the area as Wolf Mountain was the best winery in the Dahlonega area by far. Plan to spend a good amount of time here but come early as the parking tends to fill up quickly during peak hours.

Lovely view, terrible parking. Wines are decent. Stay away from the restaurant the Hostess is always unpleasant and untrained. Food is alright and the dining room is very pretty but dealing with the poor reception is beyond irritating. Have been three separate times and always annoyed before getting seated.

I don’t know the place, and I live 2 hours from Wolf Mountain Winery. I was wondering if there is a place to stay there? Or any recommendation nearby.

We are visiting Dahlonega in November and are looking for experiences. We have two young children (6 and 8). Do you allow children? Is this an appropriate atmosphere for children?
Thank you.

As a visitor to many of the wineries in north Georgia; I would say it isn’t a place for young children
There are so many great places, experiences for family fun but not the wineries
In Dahlonega, visit the Gold Mines our kids loved the tour and panning for gold.
Can I bring my own food to the outdoor seating at the tasting room?

Hello Rebekah-
We do not allow outside food at the winery as we have appetizers and flat crust pizzas available at the tasting room to enjoy on the outdoor patios. We do recommend to arrive early soon after we open to secure a table as they are first come, first serve. Hope to see you soon!
Do you have to have a reservation for wine tasting? Planning to come with two other couples on a Saturday.

Sorry to respond late, but we've been traveling. Our experience was with Sunday brunch, but judging from other answers, it appears answer is that restaurant does not serve dinner (unless you consider a big meal at noon to be dinner, as many of us Southerners do).

I see you have sparkling no wines. Do you have wines OTHER than the sparkling big variety?

Yes. In addition to the sparkling wines, they also have a few whites and a few reds.

Do you allow children at the vineyard? We have family coming into town with a baby and would like to drive up for a tasting. Thanks!
