Went kayaking down the river for 6 miles. I went on my trip with my sister and boyfriend. We had a blast. The section of river was very clean, we stopped many times to enjoy the scenery. I would recommend to anyone in the area, I would love to go the creek part

The blue youth tubes have a head rest and solid bottom so your butt isn't sitting in water the whole trip. You'll be glad for the bottom when going across shallow rocky areas. They have larger youth size that an adult can fit in. Can only get those if it's not crowded though. Has nicely manicured picnic tables and even... More

My wife and I recently purchased recreational kayaks with the intent on paddling local lakes and slower moving rivers. After enjoying ourselves on several local lakes in North Georgia we were still new to river kayaking. About 45 north of Atlanta a company called Appalachian Outfitters offers self-guided floats down the Chestatee River. Paddlers that bring their own boats need... More

We enjoy the simplicity of this place. Pay $5.00, sign, tube. You can tube as much as you like, for the entire day. You set in at the outfitters and take out about 1 mile and walk back through the woods (which is just a breathtaking walk). Bring the little kids too (4+) and tube slowly down the Chestatee.

We had a great day on the water and the guys here were so nice and knowledgeable. We only needed a shuttle since we had our own kayaks. Even though they were busy, they were very happy to explain every detail of our paddle and we thoroughly enjoyed our trip.

3 adults + 2 kids kayaking - an excellent day. The experience was very well organized with well above average customer service provided by "Forest". Highly recommended

7 of us reserved kayaks about a week ahead of time. We arrived at the location on time, but we're greeted with the unfortunate news that our kayaks weren't ready. We proceeded to wait for nearly an hour and a half. After an hour, the manager took us to the back and offered us watermelon to pass the time. We... More

I remember this group very well because I was checking them in myself. Despite the news that the kayaks that they had reserved were not ready yet, they were very nice. The gentleman who had the reservation was not the reviewer in this TripAdvisor review of us. I let the man with the reservation know what had happened and he... More

My main complaint here is the same issue I had when I went tubing on the Chattahoochee. The water was incredibly shallow for almost 2/3 of the trip. My wife and I got stuck on multiple occasions so badly that we had to clumsily negotiate our way out of our tubes and walk parts of the river. I'm not joking... More

I was not going to respond to this review. Obviously they had a bad experience and anything I said would not change that. I am sorry that this was their experience here. Had they brought their concerns to me directly I could have understood more of how they had such a difficult time. But the use of the word "dangerous"... More

This was so much fun. The customer service was excellent and a first class operation. The staff was great about giving directions and what to expect. The river is beautiful and fun (nothing scary-small easy to navigate rapids). The trip down the river is 2 to 2.5 hours but you can take as long as you like. There are places... More

One of my step-daughters decided to surprise her dad, with a visit, over Father's Day Weekend. Kayaking the Chestatee is almost a Mother's Day/Father's Day tradition for us, so we decided again to spend the morning on the river. Not having a reservation for a very busy Sunday, the staff at A O was so very accommodating. They are a... More
