My boyfriend and I booked a two hour ride for both of us. The staff are wonderful and we had an amazing time. They have horses of all sizes, suitable for children or adults. Even though it was extremely hot the day we went, the route we took was shaded so it was actually very nice. Please tip your tour guided generously, they are all volunteers at the barn.

Gold City Corral was an amazing place to go for our Saturday ride. We opted for the 2 hour trail ride with lunch- a great Groupon deal. My boyfriend and I were put on a sister pair of Percherons who were an absolute DREAM to ride. They were very well mannered and responsive horses. We had Tommy as our guide and Maggie as our instructor- both were great! We will be returning soon for more rides! Hopefully we can get the Dream Team again :)

We signed up for an hour long trail ride. The instructions given were the best we've ever received from a handful of other stables. By the time everyone was fitted for a horse, we headed out about 15 minutes after our scheduled ride. We rode for 70 minutes across varied terrain. The horses did require rider control and didn't just rotely flow the horse in front. The guide was friendly and knowledgeable and shared the interesting history of the Forrest Hills Resort. The pace set by the guide was comfortable. Given the terrain, there was not much opportunity to go much faster than a walk, which is the only reason the experience fell short of excellent.

We took our kids here to ride for an hour up the side of the mountain and around the resort and they thoroughly enjoyed it. The guide, I'm sorry I didn't catch his name, was very friendly and relaxed, giving a very quick couple of pointers and allowing us to enjoy time on the trail while introducing us to the property and various buildings we passed. The girls, Maggie and her helper in the office were also really nice and accommodating as we were a drop-in, they went out of their way to saddle up a couple of horses to make this a memorable part of our weekend and first impression of the warm hospitality we enjoyed in Georgia. Keep up the good work rescuing those horses and giving them another chance!!!!

This was a girls day of riding. We did the 1 hour. We were all different riding levels. They found just the right horses for us. They started with a guy showing us some pointers of riding. We had two wonderful guides. One in the front and one in the back. I can only speak for the guide in the back since I was last. She was giving pointers as we went, and was very pleasant to chat with. After the ride they took pictures of us. We got to give our horses treats after. We had a great time and I'd go back.

Based in Dahlonega, Georgia, the trip from Smyrna, Georgia was well worth it!!! I haven't been horse back riding in 25 years, but took my wife (age unknown), my 14 yr. old son and 12 yr. old daughter to see if they would like it. It was amazing!!! The staff at at Gold City Corral treat you like family and not like tourists. They have an amazing ability to match the right horse to the rider. NO EXPERIENCE required!!! But if you are an experienced rider--they have a horse for you!!! We "city slickers" from Miami had a great time. We will be back!!! Also, there are cabins for rent. We did not use them as we were there for a day trip. The cabins are part of the Forrest Hills Resort and Convention Center. Great place in the forest of North Georgia!!!!

If you get Dusty and Hannah, you are VERY lucky. They both make you feel comfortable about riding and actually talk to you. They wanted to know about you, and they wanted to tell you about them! I loved it. We had great horses, and I can promise you will we be back in the very near future!

Best $12 for a Couple I ever Spent. The Driver was excellent. He is for filling his late girlfriends dream of operating this company. It weaves it way around the square and totally set the mood of the evening! They even lifted my friend up on the horse for photos. Just up the Street from the Porter House and across from several other fine food places. The corner by the welcome center. Only wish it would have lasted longer than it did, made you want more time in it. Well worth the Value!! Beats Helen hands down.

We came here for Easter Sunday to ride with our families. The prices are very reasonable, especially for a large group (6+). The staff were very friendly and helpful. We had a couple people who had never ridden, and they were able to give them a quick tutorial and made them feel very comfortable. If you are looking for a nice place to ride, this is the place.

We toured Historic Dahlonega in a fine carrige pulled by a perfectly matched pair of black horses. Came back with friends the next night and they had swapped for a perfectly matched pair of greys. Very pleasent evening ride to see some really nice Victorian homes from the Gold Rush era. No wonder this place is one of Atlanta's favorite destinations.
