This was our first time to visit the Gold Mine and we thoroughly enjoyed it. We got there about 5 minutes before the tour was ready to start. I wasn't sure about all of the steps down into the mine, but had no problems with them going down or coming back up at the end of the tour. It was... More

Wasnt real sure about what this place had to offer but tried it anyway and im glad we did. They offer an opportunity for you to pan for gold and any gold you get during your alloted time is put in a tube and it is yours to keep. The biggest attraction here is the tour down through the mine... More

We have been to the mine on several visits throughout the years and the staff does a great job with showing visitors a glimpse into the Georgia Gold Rush. My kids have grown up now but still enjoy panning for gold!

We had originally come to Dahlonega for Goldrush weekend, but it didn't take us long to breeze through this time around, so we were trying to find something else to do. I had never visited the gold mines up there, so we decided on that. The staff and tour guide were nice, and we enjoyed panning for gold. It was... More

Go deep into the mine where gold once was, you can still see some gold in the rock. Pan for gold afterwards and even look for real gems that they can turn into jewelry

The day we went, we got there about 10 minutes before they opened at 10 and were told the first tour available was at 12 due to all the school groups they had coming in that morning. That was a bit disappointing. It seemed like they should at least reserve a tour slot or two for the general public. However,... More

Very engaging and informative tour which integrated the geology of mining with the history of the times and the mining culture of the day. Good understanding of the dangers faced, the tools used and the decisions made that impacted the mining operation. Panning for gold was a fun post-tour activity included in the tour price. Wear rubber toed shoes or... More

Gold buckets are way overpriced, Gem buckets are okay but nothing 'natural' from the area are in them. The one thing that really turned me off was the one ounce copper 'coins' they have for sale. I just purchased a bunch of these for $1.29 each online at SD Bullion. Consolidated was selling them for $45 EACH! Turned me off... More

My family, especially the 7 year old grandson, had a great time panning for gold, touring the mine, and searching for gems. The mine activities provided an afternoon of entertainment! And our gems provided nice souvenirs of the fun we had.
