First let me say that the customer service is outstanding! Every employee that we encountered was more than willing to help and answer questions. The price can seem a little steep, but each admission includes 1 pan of sand to pan for gold (we found a few small flakes each), a short video that describes this 3 types of mining... More

This was money spent well. What a bargain for what you get.. Lots of history being taught.. The tour guide was awesome and really knew the history and enjoyed what he was doing. We will be back and recommend to all our family visiting to check them out.

Wife and I stopped in on SAT afternoon. Mine tours are $16 pp for adults. Informative guide and tour, interesting history - more reasonable price would have been $10 pp.

Before heading on the tour we tried to find ourselves some gold. It takes like 15 minutes. After you're done they put the little piece of gold into a small container for you. The tour is nice and educating. Suitable for any age.

We came at a slow time for them so we made it through panning and the tour in about 30-45 minutes. Could see it being longer if we had kids. I could also see this being a bit of a struggle for young kids as you walk down a couple flights of stairs and you are underground for majority of... More

Staying in the mountains for a few days we decided to visit the mine. We arrived for the tour and the girl at the register needed some customer service lessons. No smile, or personality at all. We purchased our mine tour tickets which included gold panning. Silly but fun. There 2 of us and one other couple on the tour.... More

This is a really fun thing to do in Dahlonega! You get a bit of a history lesson, part gem stone lesson and some really cool things to take home. All of the guys or "miners" here are very knowledgeable and super friendly. Definitely worth the trip!

You enter the place and pay. They give you a coin if you pan for gold, a card if your doing a tour. You go in and watch a video of how to pan for gold then you pan for gold! Any gold you get you get too keep. They give you the gold in a tube with water so... More

Visited Consolidated Gold Mine with our grandkids (ages 3 – 10). We enjoyed the gold panning (seeded with a couple small flakes of gold) and also bought a value bucket of gems, which the grandkids really enjoyed. But the pleasant surprise was the mine tour. Our guide was knowledgeable and engaging. It was very interesting seeing an actual mine -... More
