This place will always have a special place in my heart. No where else in Cumming can you experience the history of Cumming, GA. The theatre is a little small, but this doesn't effect the quality of the sound or show. I love strolling through the rooms and hallways. My recommendation when visiting this place, bring someone with you who is either from Cumming or went to school here. The pictures and their stories, will make it a night to remember.

Any input from the former Rosewater Theatre Owners is always a great success at this historic former school in Cummimg, now The Cumming Playhouse. This month the scenery was designed, built, and installed by G Scott Riley. His faux stained glass church windows are a masterpiece.
Be sure to ask which Theatre Company is putting on the shows you want to see. There are different companies each show.
I love the ambience in this historic building. Don't miss Octobers Show.

We went to the production of "Forever Plaid" at the Cumming Playhouse and were amazed at the professionalism of the production. The cast was outstanding, especially Bradley Renner as Sparky and the production itself was something you'd have expected to see at the Fox or on Broadway- it was that good. The Cumming Playhouse is inside the renovated 1927 elementary school in downtown Cumming and also houses a very nice restaurant called Tam's Backstage on the lower level. The Playhouse is really interesting and has exhibits featuring authentic classrooms of that period, along with many artifacts such as a graduation dress of the 1920s, cheerleaders outfits, everyday items such as composition books from the period and so much more. It's worth a trip on its own.

I guess it's fair to say that this is a little playhouse in a little town, so on that front I have to admire their enthusiasm. I've been here a few times, most recently in December 2011.

I gather than anyone can "rent?" the playhouse for their use, and therefore the entertainment varies a great deal. I've seen some very good acts here, and some not very good. So, it's fair to say that you should know who is performing before going.

Went to see Cat's with my 10yr old, it was well done by a group called RISPA .
The cast was predominately youngsters from about 11 to 16 years old. I have seen Cats in London and on Broadway These kids would give them a run for the money. The theater is small, so not a bad seat in the house, plus it has historical value. and the price is a deal, Check them out and enjoy!!!!!

I love the atmosphere of this theatre and the wonderful plays that are performed here. We've seen four and enjoyed each of them. I love seeing all of the displays before it's time for the play to start. I've learned so much more about Cumming's history.

The performances vary and some are excellent and others are very ... well, not so hot! But for the price and location, we've enjoyed going to the Cumming Playhouse and we've enjoyed most performances very much.

I've been to the playhouse of couple of time. The venue in a good, intimate place to see a show. The talent of course varies with each show.

We have a group of friends who try to see every play that's being performed and we are never disappointed. All the seats are great. The actors are super. We have never been disappointed. We always arrive a bit early and visit some of the school house rooms -- no matter how many times you go, you will see something new. This is a real asset to our community.
