On a whim we decided to stop since we were in Cordele. We love History, and briefly heard about the park earlier in the day while riding the SAM Railway. That was a large let down, so we decided to head here. Beautiful park. There isn't a LOT to see, but what they do have is very unique. The park... More

I took my mother, a veteran, and we were a bit disappointed. It seems like the park is more for those who are either camping or fishing. We enjoyed the visit but it was very short and we went on down the road to visit Andersonville.

Stopped to camp for a night on our way to Tennessee from Florida. Everything was okay, except the park states that you cannot bring your own firewood(so we didn't)... but they don't have any to sell!. Ended up driving 10 miles into Cordele and finally found a place right next to Walmart- called Wells Hardware/Farm store. I called everywhere, this... More

A great exhibition of World War II and Korean War hardware, equipment, uniforms, and memorabilia. Both in the outdoor display and the museum. Very well done. The park has a nice lodge, lake, model aircraft airdrome, and picnic areas aside from the static display and museum. Very friendly staff. Park is well maintained however the 60+ year old aircraft could... More

Upon arriving we were ready for a day at the lake. We visit Lake Tobo quite often and wanted to try something different. Wow! Big mistake. Everything in the facilities were out of order. Everything needed to be repaired. The beach itself was trashed. Dirty diapers, trash, and cig. butts everywhere. The area they arranged for the beach is very... More

Spent the weekend at Georgia Veterans State Park with our family camping. Wow what a beautiful setting. Staff does a great job keeping the park clean and orderly. Sunset over the lake was breathtaking.

We were guiding our european friends, so a stop in the Veteans State Park should not be missed. Since we our annual parking card, we are always proud that we could go to a place of this level. Well maintained, friendly staff and a wonderful place to relax on the lake or grounds. Most of our friends love this park... More

Camping, boating, walking or just enjoying the lake it all adds up to a very wonderful day. A sandwich shop or the café make this easy for the families and friends.
