Today we were not expecting what had happened. It was actually quite thrilling and a scary yet very fun. Beans was a great guide today, she did an amazing job at guiding us down the river and serenade us with her singing. Yeah we hit a really rough spot on our trip, but beans kept calm and collective. With the assist from jaydog, I think that's what she said his name was, we all made it safely back in our raft. Overall, I enjoyed the experience we had today with beans and the whitewater trip, would definitely do it again, highly recommend beans as a guide.

We had an amazing trip with our guide, Waffles! Although all of us had been rafting numerous times on the Nantahala and Ocoee Rivers, none of the six in our group had ever rafted the Chattahoochee (and it did not disappoint)! We did the challenge trip. We really appreciated how our guide gave us the choice to raft certain rapids over and over again and we had numerous opportunities to “surf”! Four of us had an “out of boat experience” at the class 4 rapid, but we were prepped with what to expect in the event that we did! The only part we missed was the natural beauty that some of the other rivers we have rafted previously offered. But the cell service, short and convenient drive, and the numerous restaurants in downtown Columbus was worth the trade off! Whitewater express did a very good job and made it fun, safe, and enjoyable for all of us!

My favorite part of the trip was our guide, Beanz!!! She was amazing! She gave us "tour" info about the area where we were rafting, but she also entertained with stories and songs! The bus ride to the put-in spot was short, the rafting was just wet enough to keep us cool, and the Lazy River was great. I was a little anxious about getting tossed out of the raft, but the rapids weren't so high to really be a threat for tipping over. I can't wait to take my kiddos out, and we will definitely request Beanz!!! :)

We booked the Classic Whitewater Rafting experience and we couldn’t be happier with our trip. My wife is a naturally anxious person and was TOTALLY freaking out before we had even seen the water and wanted to skip the whole thing. Our guide, Toad, took her aside and spoke softly to her, telling her that she would be his priority. Toad, a great conversationalist with a wealth of knowledge in a variety of subjects, took his time and explained safety protocols and the responsibilities of each rafter. We ran the first couple rapids and had a great time. Then he took us into the “tunnel of love” (very cool) and down a stretch he called the “lazy river“ that was fun and relaxing. Then we started to approach the larger rapids. He again reviewed safety and told us what we might encounter. He later told us that, instead of the Class III rapids we were expecting, he took us through a stretch of Class IV. It was intense and it took about 15 seconds for me to be thrown from the raft. I wound up under the raft and got caught in a roll that held me under the water for a couple moments. But I remembered his advice and and just let the river take me. There was a safety person in a kayak who was right there to help. It was briefly frightening, but we all had an incredibly good time. If you’re on the fence about this, it is an experience that I will never forget. And, if you go, be sure to ask for Toad.

We took our youth group to the ocoee camp this weekend. We had the best of time!! The staff was so patient with me and with the kids. They were so accommodating when informed we had three vegitarians. All of our rafting guides were entertaining and knew what they were doing. And the high wire workers were excellent even when they had to talk two different kids down from the top. We will definatly be going back. Hopefully yearly. I recommend them to anyone who asks about rafting and even thoughts who dont.....

I went with my Boy Scout Troop for the first time. As half of us had never been rafting before, we were all pretty hyped up. We paid the fee of $55 a piece, and then got ready. They took us into the shop and had us wait in the garage. As we were waiting on our guides, I overheard one of the guides tell another guide, "Ughh. I will let you take this group because I don't want to take the Boy Scouts." So disrespectful attitude, but I am glad for the change because the new head guide was awesome. Telling jokes and interacting with everyone, we all enjoyed him. My boat had Granger as a guide. She was awesome and told jokes/stories the ENTIRE time. My main problem however, was the price. We took the classic trip. We had only 3 main rapids the entire time we were on the water not including a tiny little drop. Was it fun? Definitely. Will me and my friends return? Maybe. Although I had a blast, it was not a $55 trip. For $55, I would expect plenty of rapids (like 10 or so). I would say the trip is really worth about $30 unless they add more rapids in the future.

This review is for the Blue Heron Zip Line tour - rafting will be posted separately. We had a blast! My friend and I were the only ones in the group doing the Blue Heron. Shaun, our personal guide, was fantastic. Super professional, making sure we were safe the entire time, he also was a heck of a lot of fun! Not really knowing what we were getting ourselves into (yeah, we kinda didn't read the whole description of the Blue Heron Tour) Shaun made sure we were successful the entire way and laughed with us the whole time. The big zips are pretty darn awesome. There are a bunch of smaller zips between the bridges that are short but sweet. And the bridges! Some looked simple but weren't while others were downright terrifying to us short-legged girls but we did great. Would definitely recommend for family, friends, couples, etc.

I can't imagine a more fantastic way to spend an afternoon. The guides were helpful, fun, and seemed well trained with an aim for us all to have fun. We went with the Scouts BSA from Camp Woodruff and every single scout I talked to thought it was the highlight of the week. What a great adventure!!! I guided a raft of scouts and it was ear to ear smiles. Their gear seemed well maintained and the rafts looked in great repair and the whole experience has opened a whole new group of young people to the joys of white water sports. On the bus back to camp they were begging to do it again! I can't think of a single negative. I had never guided a raft before, but had rafted several times, and was worried this was going to be a bit lame on behalf of the younger scouts, but it was really quite thrilling and yet very safe at the same time. Fun for everyone! Highly recommend.

White water rafting on the Chatahoochie was a blast! We did the regular trip with Grainger being our guide, and had a fantastic time. This was a first time for me doing white water rafting & the experience was most definitely memorable. Our raft had a total of 7 people (including the guide) and everyone seemed to have a nice time. Grainger made the ride especially safe as we had a 10 year old with us & was very knowledgeable of the water and our surroundings.
The only reason I’m unwilling to give Whitewater express a total of 5 stars was for their unprofessional approach to their own mistakes. Like I said, our experience on the water was exceptional and Grainger made it all the better, but back in the “office/store front” we were extremely disappointed.
We spent over 30 minutes standing at the kiosk for the whitewater express employee (I did not get her name) to find our photos. These photos were never found. Another employee came by and whispered to the girl at the desk and it seemed very clear there’s were no photos at all. We stood by waiting an additional 10 mins just to be told that the photographer didn’t have a memory card in the camera. That is unfortunate for this company how you can heavily market photographs and then lack on delivering these photos. What is far from understood by whitewater express is that a large majority of the people going on this experience with them are not local to the area and these can be one time experiences for them, as this was the case for our family. I also am very conscious of peoples times and the whitewater express employees were far from conscious of ours, which is an overall disrespect. If the employee knew that the photographer lacked in accomplishing their task of taking photos, I would have appreciated being told the bad news immediately. Nothing was offered to make up for the inconvenience, and neither did we ask, as all we wanted were the photos.
Thanks again to Grainger for making this a memorable trip for our family.

We got the Classic Trip because were with our kids (7y/o and 9y/o). We booked the 9am tour and got to the meeting place at 8:20am and arrived back to the storefront at 11am. We docked someplace near the meeting place and walk few meters back to return your gears.

Definitely get there early to secure parking. First you check in their store front, then they gear you up and brief everyone with safety, what to expect, and a little history then you ride a school bus to the starting point in the river. Our kids were nervous at first but loved it after experiencing the first rapid. It also helped tremendously that Autumn (our guide) was very lively and made jokes that made the girls at ease. She was also very informative giving historical info on things seen while rafting along. They even had us float along the lazy river. Kids thought this was better than the ones in resort because it's 'natural'. We felt safe and had fun!

Couple things: Wear water shoes (closed toe). Swim wear as you'll definitely get wet. Wear rash guard, their vests stinks so this kinda protects you from that and from the sun. Wear a cap or hat so helmet goes over it and not in direct contact of your head, their helmet stinks too. Bring your Go Pro if you have one. You may request your guide!

They also have a storefront and they have great stuff in there too. Found Vibram five fingers for kid, and we couldn't find it anywhere, not even on line.
