There is a lot of local history from the Chattahoochee Valley. Displays and art cover a wide range of history from the early Indians to today. I highly recommend for locals and tourists. There is no admission charge.

If you're into local history and some more broad spectrum, this could tickle your fancy. On a hot summer day it is a nice way to cool off. I brought the in-laws here thinking it would be a great way to entertain them and show them some things about the area (we are relatively new here, so I couldn't be... More

We went here when my own children were small, and now I continue to take my grandchildren. Such wonderful exhibits and programs for children and adults!

Going to any museum is a wonderful experience, but for one like this, which has so much local history, you totally should call ahead and ask a docent to show you around. I have been there several times, but it wasn't until I took an actual tour of the place that I started to appreciate it in depth. It so... More

Such quality and a well planned museum! Lots to see and all of it interesting. Things for kids to do as well. All the history of southern Georgia is here and much, much more. The artwork and the variety of it was amazing! I was surprised that this museum had so many interesting exhibits. They have wisely used their space.

The local history of the Columbus Museum was quite nice and definitely more expansive than the outside would have you believe. The classical art section was nice as well, but the modern art section was not as nice. Unfortunately when we went, there was an issue with the air conditioning on the art floor, which made it unpleasant to walk... More

Lots of Columbus history to see. Lots of paintings to see. They were doing some work during the time I went so I did not see everything. They had a little bit of everything. You think you had seen everything and then you would find another area of things to see. They even had a piece of Dale Chihuly's glass... More

I love that first of all this museum is a classic and preserved perfectly. The theme changes always so you can go back often and not see the same thing twice and it's free! It is so pretty that often times you will see wedding pictures being taken by the fountains.

Columbus is fortunate to have a quality museum which focuses on the history of the region. The permanent collection is full of quality art. There is variety in all of the galleries, thus there is art for all tastes and various styles to challenge the mind. Outside, the Olmsted Garden is a refreshing place to get close to nature.
