Johnson Ferry Trail
Jun 2016 • Solo
I've lived in the greater Atlanta area for many years, but this was my first time on this trail. It was such an enjoyable time on my mountain bike. The views of the Chattahoochee river were beautiful. This will be a regular visit for me in the future.

Easy Hike with beautiful vistas
Apr 2016 • Couples
This hike gives you lovely views of the flood plains of the Chattahoochee. These flat wetland areas are important to the eco-system of the river.

The path started with lines of buttercups - so lovely. We saw large forested wetland areas and even spotted a water moccasin (water snake) who was zig zagging its way through the wetlands. On the left we found a ridge that forms the Chattahoochee River Valley. We walked along the river. Frequently the trail got separated from the river by trees, but it offered some lovely unobstructed views of the Chattahoochee. We also came across a creek filled with rushing water and smooth pebbles where we were able to do some stone stacking sculptures.

All in all a very easy, hike, a great place to have a picnic and spend a quiet day. A very quiet trail so if you want to spend some quiet time with a special someone - this was a good place to be.
