About
Yonah Mountain Vineyards is one of the premier North Georgia winery destination. We have just completed our new tasting room that overlooks our vineyards. This unique octagon structure has breathtaking views of the vineyards and Yonah Mountain itself. Stay tuned as later this year we will open a 10,000 square foot event facility, one of the biggest in North Georgia!

We’ve been coming here for several years now. It’s a very scenic and well done facility and vineyard. Wines are excellent even though a little pricey but you get what you pay for. Facilities are beautiful and classy. Staff very friendly and serving. The owners ever come around occasionally to sit and talk. Highly recommended.

    Exceptional Wine and Ambiance
This winery offered a truly unforgettable experience. The wines were absolutely top-notch, and the flight options allowed us to try a variety of their offerings. The ambiance was incredibly romantic, perfect for a special date night. While on the pricier side, the quality of the experience definitely justified the cost. The staff was excellent, attentive and knowledgeable about the wines. The owner even came out to greet us personally, which was a nice touch. The live guitar music created a lovely atmosphere and added to the overall enjoyment of the evening. Highly recommend this winery for anyone looking for a special occasion or just a romantic night out with amazing wine!

Prize wines in Georgia... Who knew?
My wife and I stopped by to check out this winery while weekending in Helen GA. We had such an amazing experience, we went back a second day AND joined the wine club. Not only is the wine superior to what we have tasted in Napa, Paso Robles and Charlottesville but the entire tasting experience was unlike any other. Tanner, the gentleman who served us have us a thorough overview of the flight we were sampling and then you take it outdoors and view the mountains and the vineyard. We were then graced with the presence of the owner Bob Miller who sat with us and explained his passion for wine and why they don't cut corners resulting in their stay of fine wines. Bob then played the piano for us and took us on an impromptu tour of the winery. He truly makes you feel like family. We live in Florida and have agreed that we will make the 18 hour round-trip drive to personally pick up our wines hoping that we run into Bob once again. See you in December!

If you want to taste and tour a real winery, then you are in for a great experience at the Yonah Mountain Vineyards in Cleveland, Ga. The winery is very modern and sits next to Yonah Mountain. The name “Yona” in the Cherokee language stands for Bear. The bus driver let us off at this winery, and when we went inside it was packed with busy customers. I saw 3 employees working very fast to accommodate everyone with professional customer service and friendly smiles. We were greeted by one, who just informed us to go to the other side where some customers were waiting to be charged on their purchase. There was a couple at one of the tables that signal us to their table due to they were living after experiencing a great time.
One of the employees at the huge front desk or better describe a bar, provided us with their sample tray that consisted of a set of small cups, and pour different flavored wines with a chart describing the type of wines. We had 3 sets of trays and tasted their wine.

I will say that their wine is very good indeed. After a while, we purchased our selections, and the employee provided some more sample wine at my request with a smile. We notice that before we were attended the 3 employees took care of everyone’s needs at a good steady pace. Two of their customers got on the piano, and a set of drums started to play some tunes for the crowd. We will go back to one of their events very soon. If you are in the Northern part of Georgia, do not forget to stop by this winery. You will not be disappointed at all, and most important is that their customer service and great wines will make your memories last a long time to come. We recommend this winery for its location, products, and service. “Kudos for your service”

This place had the best tasting area, the outside patio was large and breezy despite the heat, and the view of the hills with nicely tended vines was lovely. They have a lot of their own wines. Tasting was 35 for 4 wines (2oz) which was pretty pricey in comparison to other wineries. The wines were ok, not the best, not the worst. The chardonnay tasted stragely like a dry muscadine wine. The rose was better. Cab franc classic had an intoxicating smell but high acidity was not pleasant. The Bordeaux blend was the best option with nice tannins. They also have a high end tasting option (50 for 4) which in retrospect would have been a better choice especially since high-end glasses were way too expensive (40!). Unfortunately none of the GA wineries can yet complete with the global wine scene but hopefully will get there. Until then, enjoy the scenery and a nice outing to the countryside.

We enjoyed our visit to Yonah Winery. We wanted light crisp white wine. The lady recommended a glass of Young American White. It was light and refreshing. They offer plastic cups unless you buy the souvenir glass. I am not a fan of plastic cup at winery unless necessary. I found this disappointing. The inside was only open to staff so hopefully they will open as summer is approaching. You must wear mask to purchase glass of wine then when you sit you can remove the mask.

The grounds are beautiful and spacious. We sat around back overlooking the vines. There were no food options.

This place was by far the most expensive and had the least impressive wine. They charge $35 to sample 1 oz of 5 wines. To add insult to injury one of the wines was off. When my husband who has worked for decades in the wine industry pointed out that the wine was off their staff just shrugged and said it was supposed to be like that and refused to open another bottle to actually check. The place itself is beautiful but the tasting far too expensive and the other wines we tasted were just ok. The tasting room staff did not tell us anything at all about the wine and was more interested in browsing the internet.

I had no intention yesterday to help fund the Winery's expansion given the PRICES they charge for a "flight" and their cheese platter. Yes, the atmosphere is nice but the prices require one to travel with an armored truck. I recommend that potential customers review their offerings and pricing on their website before you drive to the mountain. You will thank yourself and not pay $35 for 4 - 2 oz samples for $34 (with one stemware thrown in for good measure). Then, the cheese platter came with crackers that may have come from the bottom of the box since many of them were broken in the baggie they served them in.

Ok, so we're more use to West Coast wine tasting (especially Lake Chelan, WA), and this is nothing like that. We had just visited our first winery in GA, Serenity Cellars in Clevland and that followed the west coast style. We came here expecting the same, but there was a line with a register outside where you ordered. None of the personalized welcome and wine tasting with us. It was $35 for 4 wines, 2 oz each or you but a bottle. At that price we decided to go with a bottle of Cab Franc for $50, then to our amazement they gave us 2 plastic wine cups or we could purchase a glass for $5 each. Who wants to drink a $50 bottle of wine from plastic cups. It was so commercial and sterilized, no personal service or touch, just join the line, place your order and pay, and then pay more. Not for me. There's plenty of other wineries around, don't waste your time. So far my recommendations are Serenity and The Cottage, both close by and nice friendly staff and a true wine tasting experience. This place has a nice setting and views, but that's all it's got going for it, the wine was only so so.

The firepits and pizza food truck were the best part of our experience. No one in our party liked any of their wines, which are now served in GLASSES. However, you pay upfront for a deposit on the glasses, and it is refunded to you on the return of the glass. Flights were still in plastic cups. View are wonderful, ambiance great with music outside on the weekends.

Good evening and thank you for visiting. Our wine flights are meant to be poured into the glass that comes with the flight. Best, The team at Yonah Mountain Vineyards

The employee was sub-par in customer service, the choice of a $14 “glass” of wine was a cheap plastic cup, and the wine was so inferior. I was so appalled at the cost compared to the experience. It is difficult for me to imagine someone would book a wedding or other event at this venue….for the amount of money spent to build this site, I can’t imagine how they can stay in business

I returned to the winery during Thanksgiving weekend after a two year hiatus (pre Covid) with my parents and we absolutely loved our experience! There were some changes but all in all we thought they actually improved our visit. We loved sitting outdoors around a fire pit and it was easy to order tasting flights. They come with plastic cups and cost $35 but you can also enjoy at your leisure at s table rather than have someone wait for you to finish and pour the next round. We sent to another tasting room before and the difference between the two was night and day - next time we will definitely plan for more time at Yonah! They keep expanding and adding features and still beautiful views. Worth the short drive from Helen.

We came here for a wine tasting. I was shocked that the cost of a 2oz pour of 4 or 5 wines in plastic cups was $30! We had come to taste wines and buy a few bottles because it was recommended, so we decided to stay and check it out anyway. The wines were not very good. We spent $60 tasting a flight of their whites and a flight of their reds. We didn't buy any bottles. I was also disappointed to see that most of the guests were not wearing face masks when up and walking around without any food or drink in hand. This place was definitely not worth visiting.
