Took my husband & his brother here for my husband’s birthday. It is a small privately owned zoo with an interesting variety of animals. They focus on specialized hands on “experiences” which must be booked in advance. This was our first visit & we got the “Adventure Package,” which includes zoo admission, the Wildlife Walk, Reptile Experience, Camel Encounter & Petting Zoo. My husband is on a cane, but was able to manage all of these with difficulty. The Wildlife Walk was not long, but does start off with a moderate hill. The guide gives good detail about the animals along the way. At the end, we had the chance to pet a chinchilla, an armadillo and a hedgehog. I was impressed with the cleanliness of the enclosures & obvious care given to the animals. The Reptile Encounter was a little less impressive. The building is small & our group was very crowded. We were able to pet a snake & the largest legless lizard I have ever seen. The guide was friendly & knowledgeable. They just need a roomier facility. Again, animals were well cared for. The Camel Encounter was very fun. We loaded on a hay wagon pulled by a tractor which took us to the other side of the farm where we saw some celebrity animals, camels, zebras and their emotional support animals, camels, mini-horses, emus, etc. They stopped the wagon for us to unload & feed a giant 7 foot tall camel. Feed was provided and it was very fun interacting with the camel. This was a first for us. We also bought parakeet feed sticks & went to the Parakeet Landing enclosure. We had a great time letting the parakeets land on us. The Petting Farm area is more fun for kids I’m sure. But it was fun watching the rare breed and miniature animals & feeding them. There were fun photo ops & places to rest & take a load off. There is also a gift shop & a few snacks you can buy. There is a single-stall bathroom and a porta potty. This is not a spit polish or high tech facility. It is a rustic family owned operation. What impressed me was the obvious care of the animals. I’m working on scheduling an Otter Splash experience for this summer!

Went for the first time last week because I read they had a drive-through zoo for the quarantine. Once we got there we realized the zoo was actually open as well. We decided to try that out as well. It was a bit pricey, but it did include a guided tour with a small group. The front of the zoo is a petting zoo with some loose baby goats that were fun to pet. You can buy some feed to feed sheep and goats. Chickens and pigs and other barnyard animals are also in these areas. Then at your assigned time you can go on a tour to see the rest of the animals. They had a lot of cool animals that I have not seen before or that are not even at Zoo Atlanta (wolves, kangaroos, lemurs, etc). The enclosures were not so great. Most were behind chain link fences with not a ton of room, but the staff seemed nice and caring. The drive through zoo was next and it was free (you could make a donation). It was cool to drive through, but did not take long and the animals were a little less exciting. I would go back some day.

We found a deal on Groupon that we purchased, but when booking the deal on the zoo website, it didn't ring up right. So we ended up paying $96 for 4 people to just do the safari drive thru. The redemption code only gave us 1 free ticket even though we purchased 4 thru Groupon.

So we booked a birthday party for our son. We paid for 30 guests with the bigger option of the two for the party. We also added on a wildlife walk for everyone. After spending a considerable amount of money I’m not sure it really met those expectations. In the few weeks leading up to the party I never heard anything from the zoo. It took me multiple attempts to reach someone and was always forgot about. Sally was sweet and apologized but it would have been nice to speak to someone in charge of the party. I just wanted to feel like we mattered and were taken care of. I finally got an itinerary maybe two days before the actual party. Once we got there and met Ethan and Ashlyn they were absolutely wonderful. Super sweet and informative when doing the meet and greet with our animals. I received an email stating to wait for pictures but no one was there taking them and I would have loved that. Unfortunately it stormed so we didn’t go to the petting zoo or the wildlife walk. Nobody came to check on us though with the rain and we packed up and cleaned everything ourselves. No one offered to give us a rain check I had to go ask for one which was sad after everything. I mean overall they were sweet and the animals were cute my son had a great time. I would not recommend spending all that money for a party though. Going for the day with your kids yes of course because they are nice and the animals are great. But they need better communication moving forward and more concern for the customer.

I booked this zoo based on top Otter experiences in the country and couldn't be happier with the experience. It was worth every dollar. You were able to play with them, learn about their habits, and hold them. I paid for zoo admission and the photo package when I arrived. The zoo tour was worth the admission cost. The photo package is a must since you are already seeking this experience. If you're on the fence, it really is worth it.

Lastly, our two guides/coordinators for the experience were great!

P.S. we did not do the splash experience because it wasn't open yet, but if you book that you can play in the pool with them!

ALL the staff was super nice. Erica our guide and wolf handler for this encounter was phenomenal in both her knowledge and ability to both read and control the animals. All the long hours she has spent working with the wolf's show in her ability to read them and keep guests safe.

The only 'gripe' I have, was the unusual delay in the length of time it took the zoo to forward the pictures to me, but they persisted and they were worth it.

All things considered....cant wait to go back.

We did the Wolf puppy experience and it was so incredible! This was such an amazing thing as we were able to meet Bane's pup and we had met Bane back when he was a young wolf!

Every experience we have at North Georgia Wildlife Park & Zoo has been amazing! We have done so much and look forward to each experience!

When you visit, give yourself plenty of time! There is the petting zoo, animal walk (we have done that twice), and whatever experience you add (which I HIGHLY recommend).

We have done the wolf experience, young wolf experience, wolf puppy experience, exotic cat experience and reptile experience. The staff is AMAZING and they remember you (which is so nice). They are full of knowledge and truly love their jobs and the animals they work with (you can see that in their interactions and the compassion they have when they educate you about the various animals).

We went on the explorer package. The tour guide for the llama lane and the small animal meet n greet on July 31st we’re both amazing! They made us feel welcomed and I couldn’t have asked for better guides. I unfortunately do not remember their names but I will be hoping for them next time!

Wolf encounter was great. Anyone that loves wolves I highly recommend doing the encounter. All my life I wanted to pet a wolf and interact with them and I got to do it there at North GA Zoo. You do have a dress code to go by when in the pen with the wolves.

I went here for a zoology camp in July amazing experiences, it was 4 nights 5 days with kids ranging from 12-16 years old.All came out of a total or 375 (I believe) and we got to help set up the petting zoo i the morning, swim with otters, swim with alligators , private tours, feed penguins, and a bunch of other behind the scene activities. Sadly, I did not get to experience all of them, I had stepped into a hornets nest (I am allergic) and was freaking out, but i ran to one of the staff and they drove me to the cabins that were there, and we got the situation handled perfectly, i remained calm, and they kept me awake until help arrived, even then they tried there best to help as much ads they could. Amazing Staff!!
