My party of 6 did the UTV tour. While waiting for the staff to bring the UTVs (think oversized golfcart with doors and significant offroad ability) around, we were encouraged to meet the horses in the stables. When the UTVs arrived, we took a two seater and a four seater. First of all, the vehicles were very clean and looked extremely well maintained. The guides were very safety conscious and took measures to ensure the safety of the group. It was appreciated. The guides were also very entertaining and made sure everyone on the tour got an opportunity to take part in the activities on the tour.

The tour is self-described as not a high speed "X-Games" style tour and its not. The tour averages around 10 MPH through the woods over rough terrain. If you are familiar with overlanding, its akin to that but with smaller vehicles.

The stops included an overlook and a small animal farm. The views were wonderful and the party really enjoyed the animals.

My riding conditions were overcast and mostly dry. Even so, I would recommend wearing attire you dont mind getting dusty. I can imagine the ATV's and/or wetter conditions would result in a messier ride.

I cant recommend Sunburst Adventures enough and I hope to make it back there again.

This was a wonderful adventure with teenagers and adults.

We had a group of 7, ages 11 to 55, and from the time we got there until the time we left, the staff was very attentive. Kayley and Jonathan did a great job of keeping us up on our current riddles of the day and jokes while teaching us the dos and don’t of ziplining. Joshua and Nolan were awesome at making sure we stayed safe.

If ever in Helen for a visit this is a definite must do for some fun for all.

Great job Sunburst Adventures staff!

This review is overdue, as we visited Sunburst last October. This was the second time we visited Sunburst. We have been more than impressed on both occasions. On this visit, our family (three of us) ended up riding with another family (also three). The other family had a bratty kid who was probably 10 or 11 years old, but acted half her age. She repeatedly refused to comply with the instructions of the guide and her parents (I'm NOT going to kick the horse, that's mean!). At one point she announced that she was done and would go no further. She was, in a word, horrible. She ended up ruining the ride for everyone. The guide was a young lady who was incredibly patient and who did everything she could to make our ride enjoyable. Alas, there was only so much she could do. I only briefly mentioned to the owner what had transpired, because I wanted to commend her trail guide. The owner clearly followed up with her guide, because later she sent me an email apologizing for the unhappy experience. And, without any suggestion on my part, SHE REFUNDED OUR MONEY. All of it. That is first rate. This business gets my highest recommendation.

Picked this stable due to all the good reviews regarding the horseback riding. The horses were beautiful and in good shape. The scenery was amazing. However, on a 2 hour trail ride, our guide kept jumping on and off her horse to “clear the trail.” She was throwing rocks, limbs and other debris off the trail into the woods. Not only was it startling the horse right behind her, it was not so enjoyable to stop and go, stop and go, stop and go. To pay nearly $200 for my daughter and I to expect a nice leisurely trail ride ended up being quite frustrating. When I asked the guide was it customary to do “trail clean up” during time designated for paying customers, she mumbled something under her breath. I suppose the answer was yes. I understand the trail must be maintained but that should be during off hours and not during an expensive trail ride. If that had not happened, it would have been nice. The area was clean, the horses were well taken care and the staff was friendly.
One other suggestion would be to give the customers time to have a photo opportunity with their horses. For many, it’s a once in a lifetime opportunity.

We took the 1 hour horseback ride and it was wonderful! I have been on a just a few horse rides in my life and am definitely still a novice but this was the perfect combination of suitable for a beginner yet not at all boring. The group I was with included me and my teenage daughter, plus there was another family that was a grandmother, a young teen, and a young girl (maybe 7 years old). What made this ride so wonderful is the trail goes through a beautiful surrounding of woods that includes a national forest. We saw deer running through the woods and grazing in a field. The terrain including riding up and down some hills, through a small creek, some muddy trails, some rocky trails, some flat terrain, etc. which gave it a great variety and excitement for our skill level. We also rode past their petting zoo / animal farm area. The horses were trained to follow each other well and they each had their own personalities / quirks for us to adjust to also. Before the ride, we were all given a demo of how to ride and an opportunity to ask questions. Our guide, Nolan, was very pleasant and funny and talked the whole time explaining sites along the way and answering questions...all the while keeping an eye on us. I highly recommend this ride and would be anxious to do it again! The setting was soooo gorgeous and after the experience I felt like a competent horse rider (that and the 13 seasons of Heartland I have watched).

We had a group of 8 (was supposed to be 9 but my daughter had an emergency apendectomy a few days before). 5 of us went zip lining, 2 went on the 2 hour horseback ride and I was what they call a tally-ho. A tally ho rides along and observes the zip lining without actually zipping. WOW we had so much fun! Our group of zip liners ranged from 7 to 72! The guides were so awesome. They told us about each line, explained everything, and made funny jokes all while taking the utmost care of our group. Nolan was my ATV driver for Tally Ho and he was so polite, friendly, and knowledgeable. The Zip Lines are all accessible without lots of stairs, most are on low platforms, and they drive you to the top. Everyone in our group had different favorite lines, and they got to go upside down, race on lines, and even go through a cave! My sister and my son also enjoyed their horseback right through the national forest. Because I did the Tally-Ho, I was able to take tons of movies and pictures of my family's adventures. Thank you Becky and crew for such wonderful memories and for understanding my daughter's situation. This is a great place to go!

We went on the two hour family horse back ride-two adults and a 10 year old. The horses know exactly what they are doing so you can sit back and truly enjoy the ride! We had SO much fun. Kendall was fantastic! She was knowledgeable, kind, responsive-everything you could want in an engaging guide! From the guy that gave us the safety briefing to the people at the petting zoo area to the guys that helped us off and on the horses-everyone was so welcoming. The trails were clear, felt safe and were tucked back into the forest for a serene, gorgeous trail ride. The petting zoo area was really fun too. There was a great variety of friendly animals. This place holds a special place in our hearts for the amazing time we had! A must if you are in the area!

Let me start off by saying that safety is of great importance to Sunburst Adventures. We did the guided UTV/ATV tour and the owner told us if we were expecting or wanting a fast driving experience this would not be for us and we could go to the front desk and get our money back... no hard feelings as he wouldn't pay for something he didn't want either. That being said, we knew the tour was a slower pace and we enjoyed it. Some of the ATV riders on our tour was obviously first time drivers and I am very glad they weren't able to drive as fast as they wanted to, one guy was on his cell phone and drove off the trail and almost tipped over!

The tour wound up and down and back and forth the mountain with a couple of stops along the way. One stop was at a small petting zoo with llamas, goats, peacocks, donkeys, guinea pigs and more. There were axe throwing lanes and a gem mining area too. Our guides were great, funny and very engaging.

What an awesome experience with our guide Josh! We lucked out with a super small group on an ATV tour 3:30pm in late April (can you somehow pay extra for a private tour - would be a great feature...worth the $) Be prepared for dusty fun and some rough terrain. They do a good prep session but then you are right on the trails. Lots to see and ride. Nice stops for views and animal visits - llama love! Thank you for making the online signup process and waiver fill-out seamless. Show up early, be kind, tip your guide and enjoy this awesome adventure.

Beautiful, easy drive up to the location with lots of parking.

We took our daughter (11) and son (8) who had both never been on a horse. I wanted them to get a good, extended adventure, so we went on the 3 hour tour. Mason was our guide & he did a great job keeping us safe and entertained. The hills and descents were quite challenging but the horses were calm and knew exactly what to do. We even trotted a few times (although my kids couldn’t quite figure out how to keep from slamming into the saddle so that wasn’t their favorite:) The scenery was so peaceful and enjoyable. Definitely recommend Sunburst if you want to horseback ride— all the fun of horses with no extra work involved. And Mason is a great guide!
