This park is located in my town and I am always amazed there is a lake on top of the mountain! Yes, it's man-made, but beautiful with fishing, swimming (and a beach!) and paddle boats. There is an abundance of hiking trails in this park so there is always something to do! Plus, great camping area and cabins to rent!

This park sits on top of Fort Mountain in Chatsworth Georgia. It's cheap for an all day fun filled day. Small Beach for kids in the summer and trails with awesome sights. Very peaceful and quiet.

Great state park. Clean, good trail maps, helpful and friendly Rangers and staff. We hiked to fire tower and elusive wall of stone with no problems, then did about 3 miles on Gahti trail. It is low tourist season so tranquil, peaceful and serene beyond imagination. Only comment would be since there was no gate attendant we put our entry/parking... More

My husband and I made a day trip to FMSP for book research in late December 2016. I'd heard it was pretty, but we were unprepared for the absolutely breathtaking vistas the park offers. I was moved to tears. 11/10 would come again.

After a short uphill drive from Chatsworth, you'll find some terrific trails and outstanding views. On a summer day, the temperature is several degrees cooler on the mountain. There is a small lake near the campground and rental cabins--some of them brand new and impressive looking (from the outside, I haven't been inside). This would be the choice place to... More

Beautiful state park with nice trails and lots of activities (see website for activities and dates). One of Georgia's beautiful parks with a "mystery" stone wall that dates back to the time of Native Americans. Bring binoculars and a camera if you are a nature lover since there are lots of natural wonders to admire.

This is a pretty, we'll run state park in north Georgia. Good variety of hiking trails, nice views and interesting history/mystery surrounding the wall. Also has a like with boat rentals and camping areas. Nice day trip from Atlanta. Will go back to do more of the trails.

We always find the park clean and quiet. We like riding through to look for the bears. The overlook areas are superb.

This is probably one of the nicer places I have stayed in terms of camping. We enjoyed it so much we returned within 2 weeks because we discovered a trail we wanted to hike. So we hiked the Gahuti trail. It was a 9 1/2 mile hike during the fall season. Beautiful time of year to stay! We Also visited... More

This is a great park for numerous outdoor activities from hiking, cycling, horseback riding to swimming. The park offers camping and many pavilions for a daily picnic as well as playgrounds and a mini golf course. We traveled to Fort Mountain to take advantage of the many scenic hiking trails. There are several trails to choose from with varying lengths... More
