Fort Mountain is an OK place to drive thru and/or walk thru. Take your time and enjoy the mountain scenery if that is your thing. Not much else to do there. It can be as fun as you make it.

This weekend was our 3rd trip to Fort Mountain state park. We have camped there previously and that was very nice. The park is on a ridge so be prepared for a cool, windy day. There's a good variety of hiking and biking trails with various distances and difficulties. We hiked the Gahuti loop and really enjoyed it. My only... More

The state park has several trails, varying levels of difficulty. The views are wonderful. Trails are well maintained.

We were in North Georgia the week of Christmas of 2015 and it was a really rainy time for us to be in a cabin. We were able to sneak out a few times and hike in the park. All of the trails are well marked and there is ample parking.

The kids had a 3 day weekend and the hubby surprised us with a weekend stay at Fort Mtn. It was foggy to start, but the fog burned off and we had a great hike and got some beautiful pictures. We stayed in cabin #2 and it was wonderful. There was a waterfall you could hear from behind the cabin.... More

We stayed at campsite 62 (I think) and put up 2 tents next to the fire ring. It was great. Somewhat private, however, there is a camping site directly behind this one - we were hoping no one would take that one since the park was slow, but someone did. The area is great and clean. We had raccoons try... More

One of the finest if not the finest state park in Georgia. From the wall to the tower to the overlook, it is great. Super staff, beautiful color, and fantastic camping from the campground to the cabins. The events are all family events from the wagon rides to the s'mores and includes a scavenger hunt. Make your reservations early for... More

My daughter and I took a day to just take a light hike up to the tower and Overlook and it was well worth the hike. The view was amazing and we enjoyed every minute of the day.

This was our first camping trip in a popup camper. The camping site was well laid out and level with plenty of room for parking. There was a nice fire ring and picnic table. The park itself is well maintained. The scenery is breath taking. There are many hiking trails. Everyone in our party enjoyed the trek up to the... More
