This popular park on Lake Allatoona is ideal for swimming, water skiing and fishing. Visitors can bring their own boats or rent from nearby marinas. A sand swimming beach is nestled in a cove and surrounded by trees, providing a great place to cool off during summer. Picnic shelters and group shelters may be rented for meetings, parties, reunions and other celebrations. Guests often stay overnight in rental cottages, a spacious campground or the park’s lakeside yurt. While best known for the 12,000-acre lake, Red Top Mountain is also a hiker’s haven. More than 15 miles of trails wind through the forested park, providing opportunities for exercise and nature photography. A short, paved trail behind the park office is suitable for wheelchairs and strollers, welcoming guests to explore a reconstructed 1860s homestead. The gravel-topped 4-mile Iron Hill Trail is open to both hikers and bikers, offering pretty views of the lake’s shoreline.Named for the soil’s rich red color caused by high iron-ore content, Red Top Mountain was once an important mining area. Iron pour programs are occasionally held near the Vaughn Cabin behind the park office.

Excellent customer service and knowledge from the staff and the patrols around the park. I spent about 5 hours visiting some of those little inlets around red top area on my kayak. Great time.

Been coming up here for years. Boating, kayaking, fishing. Have caught a few fish but that's it. Heard fishing wasn't that good but it's still a beautiful area. Great views. Haven't camped here yet but on our list to do.

When we worked with Keller Williams, we had a couple of company outings at one of the locations at the park. They are clean, the view and area is peaceful and serene, and all in all pretty wonderful.

Clean, friendly personnel, lots of amenities, Lake was awesome. We attended a wedding and used the cottages, and 1 of the conference buildings for the reception. Was perfect for the occasion.

Friendly people! Great Lake to swim in! Grilling available! Sometimes there are vendors!Best time to go is during the week. Weekends are overcrowded. Bathrooms are port-a-potties! There’s not enough room to change or take a small child to the bathroom.

They all do actually, they are situated on a finger that overlooks water on both sides. The higher in number the better the view in my personal opinion.
