Kayaking heaven

I kayak this reservoir as often as I can. It is peaceful and so beautiful in all seasons. You can imagine you're somewhere else!

Nice Place
Jun 2019 • Couples
The parking at the lake access is okay, but can get very crowded on the weekend. $5 to park. Bring cash as the parking permit system is unmanned and on the honor system to a degree. It is a long way to the dam from the launch area. We saw many people that were struggling to make it back after going a little too far. Boats that are allowed are restricted to electric powered only, canoes and kayaks. Standup Paddle Boards are not allowed. Swimming is not allowed. Alcoholic beverages are not allowed. As a side note there we saw a lot of rule violations, so I don't think the rules are enforced. The people we encountered were friendly and helpful.

Day on the Lake
May 2018 • Friends
I love this reservoir. It only allows kayaks, canoes, or fishing boats with electric trolling motors. Since it is a relatively long distance from launvh area to to the dam, I suggest bringing a backup battery. There are many coves to fish and the people on the lake are all friendly. I have had decent fishing success but nothing fantastic. But, I love this place.

Quiet, Calm and Peaceful
May 2018 • Family
If you want to kyak, fish or just chill on a lake this one is perfect for that. No swimming, but no motors allowed so it is a great get away from the noise on other lakes around here.

Great for rowboat, canoe, or kayak fishing. Quiet, picturesque. $5 day fee. Bigger bass hangout by the dam.

Fantastic Lake for Kayaking and fly fishing!

I'm glad theirs no gas motors allowed on this lake! Beautiful Lake with a lot of wildlife and many species of birds to watch! Only thing I saw that upset me was the garbage the bait fisherman leave behind! Pack it in Pack it out!

Beautiful Lake
Sep 2017 • Couples
My husband & I often kayak on this lake. It's big enough you cannot kayak the whole thing & the fishing is pretty nice too. Easy access with boat ramp. You do have to pay $5 to park there so don't forget to bring cash. I hear fishing is best near the dam but haven't made it that far yet. Great afternoon to kayak at this location. Pretty nice for paddle boarding too.
