I was skeptical of this 'adventure' when my husband first suggested it but it was truly loads of fun! The Lady Jane was comfortable and easily accessible for the elderly people in our party. Our guide, Jeffrey, was friendly and very knowledgeable about all the varieties of fish we caught. It's not just about the shrimp! We caught blue and... More

I went on the shrimp cruise as part of a photography tour weekend with friends. I had no idea how wonderful it would be. The naturalist aspect of looking at what the nets brought in was fascinating! We saw stingrays, blue crabs, horseshoe crabs and lots of other sea creatures. Being able to touch and hold all of them was... More

Just took this tour last week. We stayed within the estuaries because this is an educational tour not a fishing tour. There were 3 separate net drops in the water. When the net was pulled into the boat, the naturalist sorted through the catch and told us in details about the different types of marine life that was found, how... More

We did the shrimp cruise and it was very informative and fun. My son absolutely loved getting to see and hold the various creatures brought up by the net. Everyone was very courteous and professional on the boat.

This was such a fun little trip! They pulled up a shark, stingray, squid and so many different kinds of fish (everything was thrown back, of course). The crew was very knowledgeable about the entire area and really fun. Oh, and dolphin were playing all around us....good time! And the shrimp boil was really good!

Went with some friends. Had a good time. Very informative . The captain and crew were awesome. Several months back I went with a group of friends that rented for a private party. We carried our own refreshments and party trays. Alcohol too. Had a blast

Was very disappointed with the less than 2 hour trip. Appears to have overbooked. Too crowded to get a good view of the sea life. Was expecting to go out into the ocean area and we stayed in the estuary. The naturalist was very informative. But the kids suggested we go back to tidelands to see ocean life next year,... More

Sorry to hear your disappointment with this excursion. First we have been doing the same excursion for 12 yrs in the same area and the same time frame with over several thousand satisfied customers. One only need to read the reviews of the last several years to see that this is one of the most demanded excursions in Georgia. In... More

We took this same shrimp boat tour 3 or 4 years ago when we were visiting SSI. The children enjoyed it so much that they requested we do it again on our visit 2 weeks ago. I saw that they no longer offer the shrimp to eat anymore, and was fine with that, even though the ticket prices remain the... More

Thank you for your concerns, However let me clarified some information that may help you understand why things are as you assume. Lots of things change in 3/4 yrs. we are allowed to trawl with a Georgia State permit issued by Department of Natural Resources, in April 2014 they issued us an order to stop giving/cooking our shrimp for guest....
