It seems so hard to find a beautiful public beach to enjoy in North Georgia, but I am glad we found this one. The scenery cannot be beat. The water is very clear and the swimming area is quite large. However, the beach itself is pretty rocky, not like a sandy beach where kids can really dig and build all day, although you can make it work to some extent. I recommend wearing some kind of water shoes to make it easier on the feet. A parking fee of $5 CASH is required. There are bathrooms, changing stalls, picnic tables, and a snack shop with tube rentals that looks to be open on weekends.

My family and I came on the 4th of July weekend. It was clean, wasnt overcrowded, and the water and view were beautiful! The waterline and in the water is very rocky, recommend water shoes or at least flip flops to/in the water. Don't forget a float, as they are a bit expensive at the little shop near the beach.

Absolutely beautiful beach spot to go swimming, kayaking, etc. Although the beach is rocky, it is very clean and has plenty of space. Would recommend bringing water shoes and some sort of float to go swimming. $5 entry and there are restrooms available right near the parking lot. This was a great gem to find! Swimming in Lake Blue Ridge has great views and the swim area is quite large and there are buoys so boats know to avoid

Nice place to enjoy the lake! The little store at the day-use area sells sodas, ice cream treats, souvenirs. You can rent paddle boards & kayaks. They have tubes and floats available for purchase (about $20 each) but they will blow them up for you. We brought fishing poles. Made for a nice afternoon in Blue Ridge.

This is a nice place to go if you want a little beach and lake time. They have kayak and paddle board rentals for a reasonable price. The lake is beautiful. Plenty of room to socially distance.

We loved bringing a little picnic lunch to the lake sitting in a beautifully shaded area overlooking the crystal clear lake. There was ample parking and several picnic tables, but room to bring your own as well. The best part is that the park is dog friendly, so our dog was able to enjoy the park too. Dogs are not allowed in the designated swimming area, but there is a large area where dogs can play.

Morganton Point Campground is incredible. I couldn't find a review specifically for the campground but we LOVED our stay here. Gorgeously treed, many sites on the lake. it is a recreation.gov site with water and electric. There is a dump station on site. We did a 3 month RV trip out West and this was our last stop before making it back to our home in Crystal River, Fl. I did not want to leave this campground and we will be back. Location was great to get to Blue Ridge and surrounding towns. We had Site 7, Loop LL. We considered it the best but there are a few others that are also on the lake. Can't wait to go back.

It was nice but its a small lake beach so there wasn't a lot of sand or space. Get 30 people on it and it fills up. It was good to get to a beach and the water and near Blue Ridge, its the best you can get. We would go back but not with the crowd.

This place is gem! My family and I booked 3 nights and did not want to leave. Robert and the staff were outstanding! Super friendly, and always checked on our site even when we were not there. I felt very comfortable here and would highly recommend this campsite. We will be back for sure. Oh yeah! Their restrooms are the cleanest at a campground that I’ve ever been to.

This is a quick drive from downtown Blue Ridge. The facilities are very clean and convenient. Lots of parking. Many picnic tables all in various places and well placed and shaded. The kayak rental place is awesome, little store and the employees are very helpful. The water in lake blue ridge is fantastic and clear. The swim area is well marked. The camping areas looked fabulous, next time we will camp there. My only reason for not 5 star is that they indicate on website hiking but there are not really any hiking trails. There is one trail that is maybe 0.8 miles total but that goes thru the camping area... so wish they would add more hiking trails. Anyhow it is worth for camping and / or day use for picnic and kayaking. Would return for sure.

The sand is getting thin. Are you adding more sand to the beach this year? If so when?
Written April 10, 2017
They do a great job each season adding sand. But weather is unpredictable and may wash out earlier. Bring beach chairs and water shoes.
