Got the bubba bucket (I think that’s what it’s called) and “mined” for over an hour with my hubby. Was so much fun! Great and unique experience which is much appreciated these days. See pics for our haul!

Today I took my 7 year old grandson to gem mine! He chose the mother load bucket because the staff there said that you could find arrows, shark teeth, fossils, gems and sometimes even very large stones So off he went with the super heavy big bucket and mined away for two hours! The whole time all I heard was oh my gosh Nonnie look, Nonnie oh goodness look… He found 11 sharp teeth, 2 arrowheads about nine fossils, 30 or 40 gems and a beautiful super size amethyst! WHAT FUN! Best gem mining experience and Mason the young helper was great! So helpful! The little shop was clean and have lots of little knickknacks and fun things to look at and buy! we went next-door for food and ice cream and it was delicious!

We had a great time here with our 8 and 5-year-olds. We purchased the $30 buckets for them each as they include shark teeth and fossils and our kids are crazy about Dinosaurs and Sharks. Very nice little shop inside, well kept, clean and nice staff. The young boy that helped us was Mason and he made the experience that much better, He was very friendly and engaging with us. He even brought out a cup of water for our dog. We mined way more items than we expected. Tons of shark teeth and dozens or actually nice-looking stones. There were also a couple of very large rocks in each bucket that made kids "wow" with excitement.

Overall it's definitely worth the visit and it's safe to say we've found our Gem Mine for future visits to the area.

Side Note: the General Store next door actually makes tasty sandwiches and made for a great complete lunchtime trip.

I thought mining for gems was going to be cheesy or that that we would only find 1 or two tiny gems... I was wrong. My 12 year old son and 10
Year old daughter really had a good time. They founded 20-30 decent size gems! Totally worth it for $20.

We went here for our little one to go gem mining and it didn't disappoint! We got the $30 bucket and she found a huge geode! The owner was very friendly and engaging with visitors. There is a cute little gift shop and restaurant attached. A must-do for a fun family outing.

Came here to do some “mining” with the kids. The staff member was not wearing a mask so we decided to leave.

Didn’t know this place existed until I was pulled out of mud by a stranger....who happens to own and run Aska Mining. We were thrilled to visit and mine the next day. We also found treasures in their country store too! Don’t miss it on your visit to Blue Ridge!
