Made reservation via WhatsApp. Prompt responses from them. Free shuttle service round trip via Alphard. Top notch customer service and experienced masseuse. Highly recommended!

Went with my wife and parents-in-law in Jan. We booked Montigo resort and took a taxi to Kalea Spa. The spa environment has a very nice Balinese design and staff were all friendly. We opted for the 2hrs full body oil massage and the masseurs were well trained and overall it’s a nice massage experience for us.

Was deciding whether to write this review as most of the reviews were good....but went ahead so others can get to know my bad experience.
1.) 5 of us were picked up at the ferry terminal and sent to the spa, 3 book the Quick spa and classic pedicure & 2 book the classic manicure & pedicure.. I actually ask the masseur whether all the steps listed can be accomplished within 2 hrs? She said can. I was in single room whereas my friends were in a twin room. To be honest, the massage & the body scrub were alright. After the scrub, she applied the body mask on me. I ask her why there is mask as the package did not includes mask. She started saying have have and placed 2 cotton pads on my eyes, ask me to rest & she prepares the water for jacuzzi. After a couple of minutes, I lifted the pads from my eyes.... I saw the masseur sitting on the bench beside. It felt kind of weird having someone staring when I am half naked. Shortly after, I was told to shower & than soak in the tub. The curtains were drawn & after a couple of minutes I lifted the curtains & there was the masseur, again sitting on the bench next to my bag. I felt uneasy & told her I am done. Instead of letting me dress up, she said we have used more than 15 mins already. Well it wasn't my fault that the session ended 15 minutes later & I haven't even done the ratus treatment. I told her I don't want the ratus treatment anymore.
My girlfriends were done with massage and we proceed to have our pedicures. It was then 1 of them realised some of her money was missing. She had brought S$300 with her....but left only S$100. We did not inform the spa owner as we were unsure whether my friend has wrongly brought S$100 instead of S$300. Moreover, we have no evidence that the masseurs took the money. (My friend went home to check after our trip & confirm that she had brought 3 $100 bills. It was folded together in a purse so it was unlikely that she dropped 2 of them.)
My 2 other friends doing the mani & pedicure were upset with the treatments. 1 of them had the gel pedicure on. To her horror, the manicurist started removing it with normal polish remover without asking. In the end, the lady manage to 'damage' some of the gel polish on her feet. After some discussions, they told my friend they cannot proceed with the pedicure so my friend only managed to have manicure.
I have been to many spas in Indonesia & Thailand and this was the worst experience. No other masseurs have ever sat down & rest in the room. It was totally unprofessional. I felt guilty & sorry as I was the one who suggested this place. For those who are thinking of visiting this spa, massage is ok but not the mani & pedicure. And please take care of your belongings.... Just in case.

I visited kalea because of the outlook of the spa. It looked as good as in photo and real life. Ambience is perfect (one star given). But it isn't just about the outlook. To me, you have to perform well to gain the stars. I am writing based on just one therapist only. It was such an unfortunate moment for me as I was looking to really just relax my mind but I didn't get that at kalea. Sad to say!
Firstly I would comment about jewelry while working. Therapist very first etiquette is to NEVER EVER wear any jewelry while performing massage to client. Do you know how annoying it is to feel the ring on your finger rubbing on my body? I didn't ask to stop because I assumed that maybe it was just her boney fingers but I found out the truth when I gave her tips.
Secondly, I did a 2 good hours of massage that should have been very very very veryyyyyy relaxing and smooth and slow. My therapist made it as if it was an hour massage. The flow she did was soooooooo fast as if she was running out of time. Ridiculous! I wasn't at ease and definitely not relax. No pun intended with the name of massage. Something about *dream*. I wasn't in my dream... more like in a rush.
Lastly, never ever ask how was the massage in front of the therapist while she was *staring* at me. I am not an impolite client so I said good though deep down I was very unhappy.
Second star was given because of the friendly front desk people. So please teach therapist to never wear jewelry. It's the most basic rules and etiquette of being a good therapist. Thank you very much for reading.

There are good spas, and there are great spas. All elements must be done right to stand out amongst the many good spas and Kalea Spa definitely achieved that. From affordability to ambience, and of course the service staff and the therapists.
Arriving at Batam Ferry Centre and greeted by Kalea Spa's driver, we reached the spa in just 5 minutes. There is a good selection of spa packages though I decided to go ala carte. My 90-minute full body massage with Ayu is simply one of the best I ever had. The result, I had 8 straight hours of sleep that evening, something I thought was long gone years ago! (and of course the best thing is, it is only S$22!)
I decided to pamper myself further with another 90-minute two-therapists head and foot combo massage. It was an explosion of...alright, that's exhilarating but oh my, it was really good!
There's nothing better than having a good massage and a well-rested evening, feeling totally rejuvenated and ready for a new work week. Thanks Kalea Spa!

Please note that this review is strictly based on my personal experience. Whatever that i experienced may or may not be similar to the future customers of Kalea Spa. It is advisable to read other reviews to get a clearer take and overall judgement of Kalea Spa. To each his own. Thanks.
Pros:
- communicated via emails. It was prompt and well crafted.
- spa decor and amenities are impeccable
- took travel in luxury package, driver Khaliq (not sure if i get it right) was really good in terms of driving and has a warm and friendly personality. He recommended the best place for Batam Layered Cakes and the cakes were very sumptuous. Kalea Spa should keep more drivers like Khaliq, who made us feel safe and comfortable and he was also punctual throughout the journey.
Cons/Feedbacks:
- guess its just one of those days whereby i got the not-so-good (not so good is an understatement) masseuse while my partner's masseuse is a perfect one. Lets just say you can tell if one is putting her heart at work while the other is just working for the sake of working.
- Kalea Spa should request all masseuse to wear nametags to better identify for commendation/feedbacks for review purposes.
- And the masseuse i got did not even bother to explain to me or at the very least inform me on what to do next while (again) my partner's masseuse had the initiative to fully inform my partner on the next treatment. And there was this once instance where i was just done after rinsing off the body scrub, i even had to ask my partner's masseuse on what was the next treatment so we will prepare on what outfit to wear next (whether the kimono or back to our own outfit. And also if we need to step out of the room or not) This was not well communicated. Speaking of kimono, my partner's masseuse (yes, again) already prepared the kimono on the spa bed while mine was still placed under the spa bed and my partner's masseuse (yup) had to take it out for me despite her telling my masseuse that the kimono was under the spa bed. (And yes my masseuse actually informed her that its ok if there is no kimono cos i dont have to actually wear one) and please, considering the place is fully airconditioned? And just out of shower at that? And yes, i am well versed in Bahasa Indonesia so I understood the small talks made throughout.
- when it was the time to do the hair spa, my masseuse blow dry my hair, but with the MAXIMUM HEAT on the hair dryer that my scalp was actually hurting a few times. Tried to call for her attention but watching Charlie's Angels on TV while blow drying my hair absent-mindedly was more of her thing i guess.
And the final straw? They forgot our meal throughout the spa treatment that was supposed to be included and in the end we had to eat A&W at 5pm in Nagoya Hill instead as i was already having gastric.
The compensation they gave was free spa voucher.. and they were asking me what do i want over the phone, is free spa voucher okay? At this point of time i alrd lost it and just replied "terserah kamu" (up to you) cos they shld gave us a few options to offer us instead of asking something which did not leave me with any choice... they need training and a great deal of customer service recovery in this department.
Not sure if i'll be coming back to Kalea Spa.

My treatment was on the 27th of November and I had 4.5-hours of Pure Bliss. It was fantastic, they pampered me from head to toe. The meal is inclusive in this treatment and they give you flexibility to choose from the menu; it was delicious and a hearty food.
I really loved the ambience of the spa and all staffs were super friendly and accommodating! Special thanks to Vika who always responded to my enquiries very promptly, 3 spa therapists who did my treatment that day, especially Ibu Nani. Not only they helped me to relax and rejuvenate, but they also went above and beyond by adding some personal touch. I accidentally lost my contact lense's case and Ibu Nani lent me hers without hesitation. I was literally panicking, and eventually she let me to keep it cause it was already late at night for me to travel alone to purchase a new one. Other staffs also helped me out and communicated with each other trying to find it, however I totally lost it but her kind gesture really made my day and imprinted in my heart.
Location wise they are very centralised and a complimentary 2-way transport is a plus!
They even sell massage oil with various scents and organic body scrub freshly made on daily basis. I did not hesitate to buy both cause it felt really good on my skin. Hopefully I would have another opportunity to visit Kalea spa in the near future, as I really enjoyed my first experience there.
I sincerely thank all staffs who made my visit was delightful; I was all relaxed and pampered at the end of the day. This was totally exceeding my expectation. Bravo!

This was my first visit to Kalea Spa. Complimentary car transfers were arranged for me as requested. Driver was punctual and friendly. Upon arrival, I was greeted with good ambience and deco of its reception. The driver then served me with a cup of ginger tea before the reception confirmed my treatment for the day - Kalea Radiant Spa. I was then led to my treatment room. Room was spacious with basic deco. However it lacked major ambience and it was brightly lit throughout my session. Therapist was unable to maintain her strokes during my massage and she was coughing without using any non-surgical face mask. A major disappointment and definitely not worth paying such a price for this experience.

We had a last minute booking for 5 persons and the receptionist was very kind to accommodate us after some arrangement.
They offered free shuttle to pick us up and after choosing our treatment, we are ushered into our treatment area.
My therapist was excellent. She managed to soothe the aches at my back and relieved my muscle tension.
The ginger tea before and after the treatment was a nice touch.
Will be back again.

Went with group of 7, ambience & service very good BUT masseurs's skill lacking in knowledge of pressure points/strength, lack awareness of making u discomfort by pulling your hair while doing neck massage.. what a waste for such nice spa...

The hotels that are near to our spa include Harris Hotel Batam Center, Aston Hotel, i Hotel Baloi, Harmoni One Hotel etc. However, we provide two way free transport within the city center hence you may stay at any hotel and we can arrange a complimentary pick up for you at your hotel or the ferry terminal.
Our recommendations for the hotel include Radisson Hotel, Best Western Hotel, Nagoya Hill Hotel, i Hotel Baloi, Grand i Hotel, Aston Hotel among others. Those hotels are all included in our free transport route.

The prices for body spa starts from
Rp 650,000 nett.

Dear Envy, yes we do have transport service to and fro Montigo however there is a small charge to it given that it is outskirt of the city center (about 40 mins one way). Dear Agnes, certainly you can walk in to our spa directly. We do provide two way free transport within the city centre hence you can also call or email us and we can send our driver to pick you up at your location :)

Dear Joanna, my sincere apologies on the late response via Tripadvisor. You can email us directly or Whatsapp us at +6282172578800. We will send you detailed instruction on how to inform us on the ferry ticket reservation details. We will then assist you with the ferry ticket reservation accordingly and provide you the confirmation once obtained =)
For the spa packages, you can reserve via emailing or whatsapping us as well.
