About
Sleepy Hollow was created 12 years ago by Art Millican Jr. Art is a former Disney artist/Imagineer and was Senior Artist and Craftsman at Disney World Orlando for over 15 years. He has worked on theme parks in every corner of the globe. He helped his friend Michael Jackson build Neverland Ranch as well as helping build parts of Dollywood and Six Flags. Arts work can be seen not just at Disney World but at theme parks all over the world. He single handedly makes every fairy house from beginning to end. The process can take up to 2 weeks to complete and he signs every one. He still works with different parks on occasion but still keeps up on the supply of fairy houses. **We have been forced to close our business permanently due to eminent domain (11/28/20). He will continue to build once he reestablishes his workshop at a new location. So follow us at facebook.com/sleepyhollowent and watch his progress and get one of your very own, one of a kind, masterpieces.

Hurry up and see Sleepy Hollow now while you still can. Govt has claimed eminent domain and stole this land from this family to build a “straight” highway. What a gross thing to do to this lovely magical place.

My friend found this online and wanted to visit. We found it easily using GPS. Spent lots of time in the shop. Enjoyed the Fairy Village walk and all the houses. We plan to take grandkids back. They will love it. You may also buy these cute houses in small or fairy life size for your garden. Please read the :About Us" section . great for a short out of the car moment.

I am an artist, new to the area and had an item I needed for a painting. I googled "Art supplies" in the Murphy area, and Sleepy Hollow came up as the most promising place to get what I needed. Several times I had passed this place while driving down the highway, but never stopped because I was going 65mph. But this time I had a reason to stop and so glad I did. Turning into the driveway was like entering a different, and magical world! A world filled with fairies, gnomes and hobbits. While strolling in the village, I swear I heard a dragonfly laugh! There is a hobbit village built into a woodland hillside. There are playful structures, birdhouses, wind chimes, whirlygigs and artful objects everywhere you look. I felt like a child again! Inside is a nicely stocked art supply store. They didn't have exactly what I was looking for, but did have an acceptable substitute. The lady staffing the store was very helpful and offered to order what I needed if the substitute didn't work. She gave me her card and told me to call if I needed a different product. I am so glad I made the effort to stop and you can bet I will bring my grandchildren the next time they visit!

We drove about an hour through the mountains to get to Sleepy Hollow Enterprises and expected much more than was there. The little "fairy" houses are cute, although they need a bit of sprucing up. The place is smaller than we expected and had about 15 people in the small outdoor space, none of whom were wearing masks even in the midst of the covid-19 pandemic. With the first parking area full, we had parked in the second and noticed only too late that an inconsiderate dog owner had left plenty of dog poop next to where we parked. Being unable to clean my shoes adequately for the drive back, I had to tie plastic shopping bags onto my feet to keep from ruining the carpet in my car.
If you happen to be traveling past this place with young children, it might be worth a stop. I would not recommend driving out of your way to see it though. There is not much to see.

While this business has some cute little houses and designs, they are displayed in a relatively small area. The admission is free since the gnome houses are displayed to sell. A gift shop is also onsite. A cute novelty for one in the area but not what I would thing would be worth a long drive, unless one is wanting to purchase such novelties. Parking is somewhat limited and I would not recommend entrance by RV or articulated type vehicles.

When we walked into the store we weren't sure if it was a craft store or a fairy garden store. They had very little fairy garden stuff and a lot of paints and items you expect to see in a regular craft store. The gnome houses outside were done very nice but that was about all the fairy garden stuff they had,the plants in the gardens were labeled and the couple tiny fairy gardens that were there, seemed like they were something just put aside. I guess were were hoping for a lot more,we felt as though we wasted our time. Maybe for people with little kids it might be worth it.

Even our kids left this place asking why did we stop here?!? There is really not much to do! A few small wooden houses in a "garden" put together on the side of a highway. The guy is obviously very talented. But as I sat there looking at the little wooden houses, I just kept wondering why? It's a lot of work for really nothing. I mean, if you're building them for a theme park, that's one thing. But to make this stuff and set it around your house just for people to look at?! I just don't get it.

Located at 4339 Young Harris Hwy Blairsville GA, 30512, this magical little community was created by Art Millican Jr. who learned his trade during a long and notable career with Disney where he worked his way up from selling popcorn on Main Street to being the Senior Artist in charge of the three dimensional art department. After 15 years at that position, he moved on to work his creative magic at Neverland Valley Ranch, Dollywood, and Six Flags. Each of the large Fairy Houses in the community are hand crafted and take at least 2 weeks to create.

Exploring the little community of Sleepy Hollow, you can see the Disney influence in the imaginative, unorthodox shapes and vibrant colors used in the building designs. We loved it as a “seventyish” couple. It would be a very fun place to bring children and watch their imaginations run wild.
