Breathing taking fall views!! We hiked both ways, going up was tough and going down a lot easier!! There is a shuttle available if you do not want to walk. I would recommend checking out this mountain park.

Just shy of 5000 feet, Brasstown Bald Mountain is a peak that's the highest point in the state of Georgia and overlooks several states. On a clear day you can see the city line of Atlanta and all four corners (Tennessee, South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia and maybe even Alabama). I have been here many times in the past, its... I've lived in Georgia since 1973 and never been to Brasstown Bald. Stopped on a whim while driving back from seeing friends in Knoxville. Wow! So glad I did! I don't like heights or scary drives, but except for uphill, the road to the top and parking is easy...and lovely! I got in free with my National Park Senior pass... More

The drive up was beautiful. At the Visitor's Center, you can either catch a bus up to the top or hike it. The top of the mountain has a HUGE viewing deck. I didn't want to leave once I got there. Just spectacular!

This is a must do if you are in the area. Bring a jacket and be prepared for clouds to roll in and out. Once the clouds roll out you will have the most gorgeous view of several different states from the highest point in Georgia.

The owner of our cabin suggested we go here. It was out of this world. The view is spectacular. You can see GA, TN, NC, & SC from the top. You can shuttle up & down or hike the trail.

Drove in from Tennessee. Last three miles are VERY steep. Admission is $5 per person, park in large lot, and either shuttle up last .6 mile or walk it on trail. View for as far as the eye can see. Walk up to observation level or take elevator in back. There is a 14min movie shown periodically, but we did... More

We are on fall break and wanted to visit the highest point in GA. This place is gorgeous! The drive up is a little scary, but beautiful scenery.

We ended up here by accident. The guy at the ticket booth wouldn't tell us what we were paying 5.00 per person for. LOL. We paid and it was a awesome surprise. The view was fantastic. It is a great national park.

At least during the summer season the mountain top can be reached only by shuttle bus deprting from the parking lot or on your own feet. The entrance fee includes the bus. It depends absolutely on the weather - and I do not speak about rain or shine, but about air pressure and wind direction how far the view is... More
