This is a cool place to visit and when we were there we got to see snow. The high elevation allows the temps to be lower and have a greater chance to see snow and ice. We will return again.

Today we visited the summit and found in to be in the low 20’s in temperature. The white flakes were flying and there was ample ice and fog in the area. The roads were salted and the drive was no problem.... the hike up to...More

Take the 'bus' to the observation tower -- or hike up a trail to it. There is an elevator for those who need it from the visitors' center to the deck of the tower. Visitors' Center has many educational and interactive displays. The rangers are...More

The drive and atmosphere here is very calm. Lots of parking and kids under 16 are free. Adults are 5 dollars. There is a shuttle you can take from the parking area to the top which is included in the 5 dollars. I don’t recommend...More

It's a Winding Road up to the top and you have to wait a few minutes to pay for parking at the gate. There was a huge parking lot and it's only $5 per adult; kids 15 and under are free. We saw a lot...More

I know of no campsites on Brasstown Bald. Unicoi Park is in Helen, Vogel is nearby as well as some private campgrounds. Airstream Trailers have a big park specifically for Airstream's on the hwy from Helen.
