6 nights 7 days trip, with 2 days to trek up to the lake, spend a day around the lake and get back down in 2 days. Beautiful lake that actually looks like shape of the Lungs of a human being, hence the name derived from "phokso" which means lungs in Nepali. Surprise fact: This lake has an outlet for the water to get out and flow down south through the mountains, however beside the section that flows through the outlet, the lake flows upwards north in an opposite direction which is really surprising. The wind pushes the lake towards the opposite direction.

Upper Dolpo trekking is completely the restricted area required a special permit for this trekking. It was opened since 1,989; the trek was categorized as difficult highlander trails for every traveller in far western Nepal. Phoksundo National Park is the biggest National park and situated in 1984.
